Would a photo/video holding PAN (or any other prescribed "unique identifier") be ok, as was done in log1102's case?

And could you please answer the questions asked in this post - http://www.traderji.com/brokers-trading-platforms/47790-zerodha-428.html#post585941
newbie, if you are in any of the major cities, there would be an ILFS office around u.... If you are not, would appreciate if you could go through the process of webcam verification....You can schedule the time, switch on the webcam or else visit a browsing center and we will ensure that it is all done in less than 5 mins....

Well, I'm in Mumbai..... I'm getting this in google - link

But then how is it that log1102's video was accepted as proof for his verification? - link

Could you please answer other questions asked here - http://www.traderji.com/brokers-trad...tml#post585941
May be I'm asking too many questions but hey, I'm a newbie so......

To clarify, I opened only a trading account, not a demat account. I'm sure if you call/mail them, they will help you out with your problems.

Well, I THINK (I could be mistaken though) they're asking for "IPV through webcam" for demat, not for trading, trading can be opened without it (didn't someone already mention it? hmm)

Mobile Trading

Hay Zerodha/Senior Members,

I m planing to buy Samsung Galaxy S5670 for mobile trading using NSE now (zerodha account). Can you please confirm if this would work fine?

Bcoz I have tried to load NSE now mobile software (JAVA) in my current nokia 2730 set and its shown error for java memory exception.

Please confirm if I can go for this Samsung set. any other suggestion around 10K would be appriciated.

I don't understand why a mountain is made of a mole hill about webcam verification....I am kind of tired talking about same webcam thing!!! It is a very simple process, there are thousand other things to be worried about ... there are so many other ways I can be of help other than trying to explain why we need IPV... This webcam thing is going overboard now....

@NEWBIE TRADER....Find the answers in red...

I understand that your structure is most appealing to "big/bulk traders" & not so much to "small traders" but my point was that there are plenty of "intermediate traders" like as I've said, if I buy a SilverMic for 65,000 then I'd be better off with 0.01% brokerage (6.5+6.5) rather than (20+20) while very next moment I may trade Crude at 4,00,000 & then (20+20) becomes more appealing than 0.01% (40+40)

So my point is that with your current structure, you'll be losing out on the brokerage generated for "smaller trades" by "intermediate traders" because they'd be better off arranging another broker for their "smaller trades" at 0.01% & only do "big trades" with you at 20+20.

Good suggestion newbie...We already had this on our mind... For currency and commodities, we would be starting with, Rs 20 or 0.01% whichever is lower per executed order... On NSE only mininifty contract is less than 2lks, we are trying to figure out something that can be done on this...

What about commodities & currencies? (just curious)
Answer above

already explained you on Stamp duty...

I understand that but the question was whether I'll be charged AGAIN for opening commodity A/C, if I open an equities A/C with you right now? Same question for currencies A/C, will I be charged AGAIN for opening that as well?
Yes commodity account opening will be separate, documents have to be stamped again and hence separate account opening charges

And those are? Sorry, I'm a newbie so don't know  Again, I'm NOT expecting specific numbers but whether margins for intraday will be above or below the MCX-specified margins, & where the overnight margins will be.
We will definitely give you leverage on an intraday basis, but overnight we would definitely stick to MCX margins

The question was whether I'll be eligible for it if I sign up for an equities A/C right now?
We intend to give a special offer to all our existing clients when we start commodities...We always like to say thank you... :)

And it seems you people are definitely having fun (well, average daily turnover of 1000 in the first year :clapping:) & so are a lot of your traders it seems. Looking forward to it. :D

Have fun,

@Zerodha,

Thanks for answering all the questions :)

Ok, one more query

Is it mandatory to have at least one demat for me to register with you guys for equities-trading A/C?

Right now, I DON'T have ANY demat with anyone & I WON'T be trading equities right away (I've never traded anything but I'd feel more comfortable starting my "trading career" with commodities as I understand their underlying factors a lot better than equities) but in the future, I'd like to trade in equities too so I'm thinking I might as well get on-board with you guys right now SO can I just open an equities-trading A/C for the moment & just "get the feel of things" until you people start off with commodities? Or would an equities-demat be necessary?
