Hi Zerodha,

I am trying to access Launch Now, your desktop software, and it gives me an "Initialization failed for interactive engine" error with "OS error" as the reason.

I then tried to access the web version, from the NOW online site. I logged in and launched Now Express. I saw the Java logo running, and it launched the Now express console.
Now when I try to add a scrip, by clicking on "Add Scrip", it gives me this error:

"An error occurred during a connection to www.nowonline.in:80.
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)"

What could be the issue?

I went to speedtest.net to test my speed. My download speed is 2 mbps.

If I cannot launch either the desktop version or the web version, how can I execute my trades?

One possible reason I could think of for the failure of the Launch Now software would be I am behind a proxy in office. Is there a way to set the proxy for the desktop software?

In any case, I should be able to access the web version, no?

I have been trading from my icici account for the past couple of years from office without any issues.

Hi Dr,

We have already received the MCX membership, just pending FMC approval.... We are expecting it to come through anytime.... We should be all set within 15 days from when FMC comes through... FMC is a government entity and they work at their own sweet pace...

We will have to do another set of documentation for this though...Same account opening process again...We will definitely throw in a good offer for our existing clients...

Sorry for missing the post,

For currency we are putting up a rule on brokerage which is 0.01% or Rs 20 whichever is lower.... So a guy trading only 1 lot in currency will pay around 4 to 5 Rs and if he trades more than 4 lots at a time, he will pay only Rs 20...

For currency, margin required for 1 lot is only 2k ....Usually average order size today is around 20 to 40 lots at a time... .

About, giving margin against the shares held in your demat...There are a few issues which are stopping us from doing it.... Presently we are letting a few clients to do it on an intraday basis, once set, we will start giving on an overnight basis as well... Will keep you posted on this...

With that sort of rule on brokerage (you should seriously consider it for ALL SEGMENTS) & with your CC being better than most, you're more than half way to becoming India's Next Top Broker. Now, all you people need is a MetaTrader type of solid platform with great charting & everything & you people will be unstoppable, all other brokers in India will be dead & buried on all counts (& so will be that annoying guy in this thread :annoyed - brokerage, CC, platform :clap::clapping:
