Sorry for missing the post,

For currency we are putting up a rule on brokerage which is 0.01% or Rs 20 whichever is lower.... So a guy trading only 1 lot in currency will pay around 4 to 5 Rs and if he trades more than 4 lots at a time, he will pay only Rs 20...

For currency, margin required for 1 lot is only 2k ....Usually average order size today is around 20 to 40 lots at a time... .

About, giving margin against the shares held in your demat...There are a few issues which are stopping us from doing it.... Presently we are letting a few clients to do it on an intraday basis, once set, we will start giving on an overnight basis as well... Will keep you posted on this...

Hi Zerodha,

Some posts back there was some discussion going on about linking Excel to NOW.EXE . I tried the options, the """Write to Excel""" is working fine. But """""Link to Excel""" is not resulting in any action. Are there any settings which need to be done , to enable this.

i know omne Xl from Omnesys can be linked excel to do arbitrage in markets

I have had some interaction with Zerodha's customer care and they sent me this info to enable the 'Link to Excel' facility. You do have to get in touch with them to get your self enabled though... The email which I received follows, and if you write to them, my presumption is you'll get the same info.

""First, you need to right click on your Market Watch on NOW exe and select 'Link to Excel'. In that option, you have to select 'All Items.'
Then you go to Excel and just do a paste or 'Ctrl+V'. This will enable streaming quotes on Excel.

Settings within Excel:
1. Open Excel - NOW supports Office 2007 and above.
2. Click the "Office Button" on the top left of your screen.
3. Click on "Excel Options" at the bottom of the new window.
4. In the new window, click on "Trust Center" on left-hand side menu bar.
5. On the right-hand side, please click on an option called "Trust Center Settings".
6. In the new window, click on "Trusted Locations".
7. Click on "Add new Location" on the bottom of the window.
8. Browse and select the "NOW" folder from your Program Files.
This will enable Excel to receive streaming quotes from NOW software.""

BUT ISSE HOGA KYA THE QUOTES WE SEE IN NOW WE CAN SEE IN EXCEL i dont have now though as i dont trade with zerodha

But i have elder brother of NOW that is Nest Stratergy work same like NOW
only diffrence is we can pre program our trades for arbitage , cash futures options ECT ( i do full time arbitrague )

what is the point of adding excel to trading software can we some how make excel to be a more complex trading , excutions programe ??????

We are testing this rule of either 0.01% or 20rs whichever is lower for 2 days on currency from tomorrow....This rule would be applicable for equity derivatives as well from monday onwards...

We definitely don't distinguish between high networth or low networth traders... All you guys should have realized the same by now...

Hi Zerodha,

I am trying to access Launch Now, your desktop software, and it gives me an "Initialization failed for interactive engine" error with "OS error" as the reason.

I then tried to access the web version, from the NOW online site. I logged in and launched Now Express. I saw the Java logo running, and it launched the Now express console.
Now when I try to add a scrip, by clicking on "Add Scrip", it gives me this error:

"An error occurred during a connection to www.nowonline.in:80.
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)"

What could be the issue?

I went to speedtest.net to test my speed. My download speed is 2 mbps.

If I cannot launch either the desktop version or the web version, how can I execute my trades?

One possible reason I could think of for the failure of the Launch Now software would be I am behind a proxy in office. Is there a way to set the proxy for the desktop software?

In any case, I should be able to access the web version, no?

I have been trading from my icici account for the past couple of years from office without any issues.

Sorry for missing your post...

The sofware version won't work behind the proxy....

For the webbased version, you can try www.now-online.in if www.nowonline.in doesn't work....

Webbased version again can be used in 2 different ways:
1. applet based trading window, called nowexpress... ensure you have java installed for this on your system.... java can be downloaded from the homepage www.nowonline.in ....

2. normal trading window, similar to icicidirect...

We received a member code from FMC today. We are starting off on setting up of the technology from today...The servers again will be collocated to give everyone the best latency...
