Yes, I have a problem with charts when I try to change the time frame. I am keep getting "Invalid Parameter" error. I had posted this query in this thread earlier, and it has remained unattended so far. I can see the charts in 1 min TF.

Let's not talk about RKSV in this thread, abhi nahi.

the thing stopping me from going over to rksv is the stamp duty which is not fixed.
after this month i will do the calculations and then decide.

btw, does anyone have a problem with now for intraday charts using windows 7 64 bit.
it gets stuck for me all the time i try. i also tried the compatibility settings but didnt help.

Zerodha,

Thanks for the offer, and hope most of us would make good use of it.

But more importantly, the charting issue needs to be resolved. If the NEST charting
which is going to be implemented by you with the new NEST platform is going
to be this much resource-hungry and bandwidth-eating, besides coming at
a cost, that wouldn't be palatable for most of us. You need to do something
alongwith NEST people to see that it consumes less of system resources and
bandwidth.

I think that would be the real late new year gift.

TO MURHTHYAVR,
I used reliance money nest trader. It is neither resource nor bandwidth hungry.charts work well in nest trader. It is a good trading software.
Thank you ksp..

May be, NOW+NEST is a bad combination..

Anyway, I just wanted to let Zerodha know that the existing set-up is not too
very convincing..

Agreed that NOW does not have any charting or Backfill, but it is no way resource hungry and bandwidth eating. Like I said before I do not mind it eating more bandwidth if it can refresh quotes more frequently.
PS: I would really like it to have charting and more importantly backfill.

Hi,
Currently i am familiar with ODIN only and i have never used/experinced NOW platform.
I have decided to open an a/c with Zerodha, Which offers 2 versions of NOW platform
Browser based and other one is EXE ie. PC based.

From what i have heard, i perceive that Web based trading platforms are slower than pc based.........am i right?

But when i saw Zerodha User Guide video : While explaining NOW EXE platform, there's mention in the end :'it will slow uo system upto 35% '

Friends/senior traders - will u pls throw some light on this aspect as i am using net connection of speed 320kbps ( actual data transfer speed comes at30kbps).....will it suffice?

Thanks

now is resource hungry, if having good configuration system, then no problem.
about bandwidth, if running too many programs require bandwidth then its a problem. i have 256kbps plan, run NOW, tradetiger and mt4, & didnt face any problem. i didnt activate now charting till now as it needs too much bandwidth

one more thing- 256/320/512Kpbs etc are in kilo bits, but when we download thru ie/firefox etc show in kilobyte i.e. 32/40/64KBps. so if you are getting 30KBps speed that mean it is 240Kbps+some more (connection overhead). and also if your connection is broadband or 3g, then it is 2 way (separate bandwidth(channel) for uploading), for ex- i get 256kbps for downloading, & 200kbps for uploading.

i didnt knew last part (2 way) when got broadband at home first time some years back. so whenever had to download something urgent, then used to avoid uploading any attachment etc simultaneously....

OK......... got it.....meaning of resource hungry....
@system- i have latest configuariton
@bandwidth- as u are using 256kbps successfully. I don't think mine should have any prob at all as curr i use ODIN and couple web pages only.
So apparently i don't think any prob shud arise. Still i will be prepared to switch to higher bandwidth if need arises. (It's not a major prob as i have broadband and my provider offers flexibilty)

Thanx for it Vikrit
