now is resource hungry, if having good configuration system, then no problem.
about bandwidth, if running too many programs require bandwidth then its a problem. i have 256kbps plan, run NOW, tradetiger and mt4, & didnt face any problem. i didnt activate now charting till now as it needs too much bandwidth

one more thing- 256/320/512Kpbs etc are in kilo bits, but when we download thru ie/firefox etc show in kilobyte i.e. 32/40/64KBps. so if you are getting 30KBps speed that mean it is 240Kbps+some more (connection overhead). and also if your connection is broadband or 3g, then it is 2 way (separate bandwidth(channel) for uploading), for ex- i get 256kbps for downloading, & 200kbps for uploading.

i didnt knew last part (2 way) when got broadband at home first time some years back. so whenever had to download something urgent, then used to avoid uploading any attachment etc simultaneously....

It sure as anything makes me hungry. Since I tarted using NOW, have become really hungry :) Lunch is now at 1 pm. And breakfast happens many times :)

Guys, if you know us, I am sure you will know that we won't put in conditions like these... ;)..

We are going to put up a detailed explanation on all aspects, there is another interesting aspect which might excite some of you, which is still not explained...

But for starters,

From the first day you trade after feb 14th, 60 market days(doesn't matter if you trade or you don't) if your account is positive, you get back the brokerage... No other conditions, like minimum number of trades, minimum volume, nothing of those sorts....

So for eg, on 15th feb if you had 1lk in your account and on the 60th day( market day: day when market is open) your account has 1.01lks, you get back whatever little brokerage you had paid during this period...We will give you a link on the backoffice, you go click saying credit back my brokerage and by the end of day, whatever brokerage was charged will be credited to your trading account...

of course, we will not consider the money transferred from your bank or money received by selling shares in your holding.. ;)..You just have to be net profitable...

We will fill you in on all the details by monday evening...
For equities market if I bought some shares during this period and I am still holding in drawdown at the end of 60 days.
Will it be calculated as loss or those transaction will not be taken into consideration as it is not squared off so we don't know whether it is a winner or a loser???

Please clarify.

Agreed that NOW does not have any charting or Backfill, but it is no way resource hungry and bandwidth eating. Like I said before I do not mind it eating more bandwidth if it can refresh quotes more frequently.
PS: I would really like it to have charting and more importantly backfill.
OK......... got it.....meaning of resource hungry....
@system- i have latest configuariton
@bandwidth- as u are using 256kbps successfully. I don't think mine should have any prob at all as curr i use ODIN and couple web pages only.
So apparently i don't think any prob shud arise. Still i will be prepared to switch to higher bandwidth if need arises. (It's not a major prob as i have broadband and my provider offers flexibilty)
My original post #6100 was regarding NEST plug-in on NOW application.
My comments about system resources and bandwidth also were aimed at
this combination. I am certain that this combination is a very bad one.

NOW as a stand-alone (without the plug-in) is ok - but GTji complains that
the gap between quotes refreshing is more.

My only desire is to have some sort of backfilling (simple save-as-csv would do) and charting( not so much), otherwise no complaints regarding Now.exe. There seems to be a bug though which I would like to bring to the NOW teams attention, and which I am quite sure they are aware of. Whenever there is a disconnection because of the internet, ' NOW ' gets automatically connected after a couple of minutes and the quotes start refreshing as usual, but if I try to place an order after this re-connection, the order does not go through. I get an error message " put order error....." or something similar like that. Then I have to shut down NOW and restart it then only I can place orders. Has anyone else noted this?

Nope, doesn't happen with me. After a disconnection only the trading password needs to be put in again. Trades go through as usual after that.
