Dear ZERODHA.
First lemme admit that my question is pre-mature and i understand it's difficult to answer as day to day market dynamics changes and some things (like NOW getting paid etc are beyond your control)
So....
Currently many big brokers charge some amount for providing ODIN terminal which is reverted back when u generate that much brokerage.

If NOW goes paid, will u also start something like that to ensure minimum turnover. ( Plz don't mis-understand. i know it will be because of NOW getting paid)

Since u are TOP VOLUME broker with NSE, U must have thought over it. AS well u are also transiting to NEST.
So pls share if u have decided (or thinking) of some thing ,like minimum turnover etc.

( Pls Note- I am definitely going to open an account with Zerodha )

We would never put a condition on minimum turnover or anything of that sorts... The idea in moving over to NEST is to provide a much more advanced trading platform for free...

1. My account for NFO trading got activated today. I had applied for DP and MCX also (For BSE also I had signed hehe), with form and cheque. I can understand DP will take time, but for MCX I didnt see its opened yet. So, by Feb 15th it will be opened/active?

2. I checked NOW, couple of observations. NOW works on port 56000, which is not well known port like < 1024, if someone is sitting behind FW it will be blocked. Will it be same with NEST also in the future? Please try to host on well known ports (which are used by other Trading softwares too) like 80 or 443.

3. Will you be having web interface, just like nowonline.in, when all the segments are moved from NOW to NEST. This will help if someone is sitting behind FW and the NEST works on port >1024.

Yes you will have a webbased version and we will also do everything possible to run the exe version on popular ports...

How can STT be Zero ?

It is based on the total transaction done on an exchange and paid to the Govt., similarly NSE charges will also be applicable.

Of course, the Service tax could be zero and surcharge thereon too which is levied on the brokerage.

But to avoid disputes with govt. at a later date, I believe, zerodha will be refunding you only Rs. 20 per trade.

Only the brokerage component will be refunded.. STT, Turnover etc are statutory... Also the service tax can't be refunded because it would have been already paid to the govt... What will be refunded will be the Rs 20/executed order charged by us...

Thanks for the prompt response. Looks like if you are behind FW, even nowonline.in doesn't work (Only iPhone/Android on 3G will help me for now :clap, may be coz of some ports. Hmm.. 443 ? Not sure how many people are facing this issue.

Hope that with NEST it will work seamlessly :sos: with both exe and web based versions.

EDIT: I use MT4 behind FW and works fine, even that uses 443, not sure why nowonline.in didnt connect from my browser when behind FW. Without FW there are no issues, I wonder if for authentication they use some other port and only for data (after authentication) they use 443?!!!

I do not face any such issues with Diet ODIN or KeatPro (both uses 80). A sincere Request @Zerodha to take care of this issue for NEST from now itself for the future (I am sure it would help other users/future users sitting behind FW).

Got a mail from Zerodha regarding Now patch.

Installed the patch, but whenever I am trying to login after entering the password by pressing Enter, I am getting the error "User cannot login. Reason : Disconnected from NOW system"

Now was working properly for me before the patch, I am facing this problem after installing this patch.

@ Zerodha: Fix it sooooooon.........
