............

If you use SL, then keep a few ticks gap between trigger to limit, so that there is a guarantee of execution..
can you explain what you mean by example, take any scrip nifty/copper as example.

Hi Zerodha,

I am holding Hindalco share . Hindalco has announced Dividend on 27/06/2012 . Please see this announcement in moneycontrol website..

I have 3 queries here

Q1) How long I need to hold Hindalco share to get this Dividend ?

Q2)any action required from my side to get this Dividend ? OR it will be automatically credited ?

Q3)Dividend will be paid to backoffice or to Bank ?

Could you please reply to these queries . Please guide.

vikrit , I guess he meant ...say you had trigger = 105.50 and limit = 105.25 ...very close gap here...so need to widen the gap .

This is just my guess ...
bro, i know what gap mean, i am asking example stating how execution will happen in that case, how chances will increase?.

ex- if in your said example, SL-L is againt long position then in after trigger at 1.50 when order will execute, if gap down or gap up suddenly what will happen, etc etc

Hold the shares till the ex-date. If you sell it on ex-date or after that, you will get the dividend. Automatically credited.

If you are trying to sell stocks which are in your demat and placing order as CNC and getting this error, this means it is not in your demat.. If you buy shares on Monday, tuesday it will show in your t1 holding but on wednesday it won't show anywhere because it is the settlement day.. So if you try selling on wednesday, you will not be able to ...
What type of rule is this? I never faced this type of problem in other brokers?
