Zerodha,
For taking this position in one day how much margin I need to put order?is same continue in next day too?(eg:each 1lot)
means..if i short 1 lot CE and 1 Lot PE ..need margin of futures eg.30K each ...I mean 60K for entering trade and carry to next day...now from next day how you adjust margin amount as its covered position(short put covered by short call)
As I said earlier, to give you the exact requirement, I will have to take a position first.. On Ztrader, you will get an option to calculate margin yourself for a position like this..

The first day itself, because it is a covered position SPAN drops quite a bit, You could set up a short call and long call together for around 20k and similarly 20k for puts.. Together you will need only around 40k, to set this up.. Intraday you would be able to do it with around 30k( 40% of the shorting margin)...

I've long been aware that Indian Standard Time is several hours away from stated time, but Zerodha is stretching the limits on how IST works. It's now Thursday and I'm still waiting for it to be Tuesday over at Zerodha. Any updates on when we will finally move to ZTrader? I think you should treat this seriously enough to give us some sort of timeline - not all of us are gifted with unlimited patience. Based on the current transaction charges & platform, I would move elsewhere. This endless "hope" that things will change has kept me trading with Zerodha, but if we don't get an update soon, it'll be time to move on and return if/when things change. NSE NOW is just a ridiculous platform to trade on.

Dear AOT

Sadly all platform in INDIA are just a ridiculous to trade on.

Ztrader is nothing but NESt platform ...Now is stripped version of NEST.

But if you find NOW ridiculous than NEST too you will find same.

This such IRONY that INDIA being major 1st class software outsource ...cannot make software for themselves...

software.. hmm... that's cause buyers outside India pay well. The one's inside dont :p

India is still an outsource destination for lower end, not the core. It is akin to saying that 95 or 98 % of the iconic Iphone is made in china. true but that that is all the low end. china can imitate but cannot produce the quality and feel of iphone. same is the case with Indian software.

hey its true ...it is indeed made in chine in foxconn factory...

Actually china can make all quality iphones......

same way indians too are involved in core project in foreign...

only thing is...our companies never think of making standalone software like OS...applications etc etc..

as someone above pointed out ...as indian companies dont pay them much..while in aboard they get hefty pay

Couldn't agree more Sunny. The great Indian "jugaad" mentality ensures that quality is elusive.
True of domestic IT, true of Indian cars, etc etc. The brand that bough Land Rover still makes cars that are trash. With after sales that is even trashier. With Zerodha - at least they're likable people.

I'm just waiting for the day that some Indian brokerage gives me an Amibroker plugin to allow me to trade from my ami charts. Indian software is bulky, unreliable, unstable and bordering on being unusable. Mera bharat mahaan.

Nest has tried to outsmart others by including lot of things including news etc., which is a gimmic to attrect the retail crowd, but they are unable to maintain with good technical support. They should realise professional traders don,t want complicated things, they want simple, fast and efficient terminal, charting software, technical support and customer support and incentive. Cheaper brokerage at the cost of these things not at all wanted. Anyway in the present compettive market, to survive they will have to improve. I think a large group of traders are waiting to start commodity trading, Delay is the loss of opportunity cost.By the time they bring commodity, I mean amalgamation, other houses may bring out new beneficial features.

Sachin,

Where does our group created in NOW get saved. As after yesterday's expiry day I am unable to add banknifty and nifty futures in existing group.
When I try to create new with same name it gives error that group exists.
How to search where the .ini/txt group file is saved by default ?

Thanks,
Raju
