Hi all,

I was recently referred to this broker Zerodha by my friends brother and he told me about this company offering low brokerage. I saw their website and saw some posts in this thread and I find their services interesting and competitive. On referring their website I saw the referral scheme of offering 10% fees to the refree. So eventually my friends brother will earn commission from my brokerage account.

On inquiring with him he told me that the company is still not decided on the payouts and he has not been paid since more than 1 year. All his commissions for other customers are also not paid. He was worried over the intentions of Zerodha to pay or the financial viability of this company to sustain business. Or maybe this company going bankrupt. I wanted to know if this is true that the commissions are not paid to its members for over a year and what is the risk of opening account with such company where its members are not paid commissions on time.

Hey Phantom,

We were faced with a regulatory issue of not being able to payback to our clients, this is fixed and payouts have been done for all those who have requested for it.. IF your friend has not put this request, can you ask him to logon to backoffice and put a withdrawal request??

Referral wallet is the link he would have to visit

Hi nithin,

Did you face regulatory issue bcos you were unable to pay? Does it mean some one has complained to regulatory as you were not paying them what was promised? Or is it that due to regulatory issue you were NOT allowed to pay to the clients?

Many thanks for the most helpful post. Have almost forgotten about the MICR and IFSC aspect and did not know about the problem during migration.

Updating the record of companies is the one thing I am most concerned about. Do all companies update their record like Zerodha does? Will sending a mere cancelled cheque do? I do not need to do anything else?
For the mutual funds, I used to send their banks details change form, which is part of the account statement (a photocopy will do) along with the new address proof and cancelled cheque of the new branch (showing the new MICR/IFSC).

Received an SMS from Zerodha this morning "The Basket of Stocks for which we provide Margins for Intraday Trading has been changed. We have updated the list and sent you an email with the new list of stocks for which intraday margins will be given. This change will be effective from 16th August, 2012. Happy Independence Day."

Waiting for the email.

Thanks, and same to you, Zerodha.
