so many promises made by zerodha when they started off. but sorry to say that almost all promises were NOT taken care off. To say the least check your own web site; it has not changed since ages; all you see is "coming soon"....Now, square off time is pre-poned to 3 pm and also many might not be aware of this: required margin to buy/sell FUTURE stock/index lot (for intraday) is now 40% of the total margin required to hold the position. Earlier the margin was less and was 50% of the span margin. Is this the case the of horse becoming a donkey?
I agree with Udi1970, sorry to say but I am shifting back to Indiabulls here my brokerage is 0.01 and 0.1 for interday and delivery, PIB is excellent and legder balance maintained in a systamatic way which all lacks in Zerodha.

Only drawback with Indiabulls is option brokerage is rs 50 per lot, but I rarely trade in options.

We have terminal to save our interest beyond 3. It has noting to do with traders interest unless u are looser.

Dont take margins if dont want.

Dont take it personal but why u need ur interest to be taken care by ur broker ? Are you a looser ?

Buddy we are talking about privileges being taken down. Dont give more but atleast maintain.
My dear friend, you took it in the wrong sense. Margin trading positions, that zerodha provides you has its inbuilt risks. If God Forbid, their server goes down in the last 10 minutes, and they are not able to square off your positions, you will carry them home, even though it was meant to be squared off. Now, the overnight risk shifts to zerodha, which they dont want.

As for quantum of margin, if markets move too fast, the amount you earmark as margin may disappear very quickly. And if some few traders have large leveraged positions, and the market hits a circuit, which has happened many times in the past, its zerodha that gets screwed. Not the account holder. Hence, they want you to put up more margin money.

As for my being a looser, I must say, you have a very sharp eye. Yes, I am a looser. I loose on a regular basis. Hope my assertion makes you happy :)

They must have ways to deal with situation like above even in last mins. In no case you ever take unwanted position home. I never heard this.

They must have thought of this before giving margins to us till now.

Hi all,

I am a new member of the forum. I came to know about Zerodha only yesterday through this thread. I went through entire 270+ pages before making a decision to open the account

I feel that Zerodha is offerring a good service when compared to other brokerage houses. Just to give example, I called up zerodha yesterday evening for the first time, their representative met me today afternoon and after clarifying all doubts collected the documents. I just now got the mail confirming that my trading account is open, which took less than 4 hours. I have never seen such service from any service provider.

The low brokerage will definitely help in generating more profit.

Regarding connectivity issues, I hope Zerodha will response in a prompt manner.

Just wanted to share my personal experinece with Zerodha, which has been excellent till now (keeping my fingers crossed for the first trade though)

Cheers

Hi

Seeing too many complaints about connectivity issues.....:(......

Looking at the way these complaints are bunched together for last 2 days....looks like fault does lie at NOW admin's end:mad:...But as a client..we will always hold the broking company responsible as they are our interface....Software hanging for 5-10 min can be disastrous

These are teething troubles but need to be solved quickly & efficiently...
From long term reliability perspective....Zerodha need to develop own software, (also for MCX & MCX-SX trading)....Cheap brokearges are great but if software crashes , it is of no use

Someone from Zerodha should clarify on the forum....

Having said that still full marks for customer service & speed of complaint redressal:thumb:

Guys i actually feel for Zerodha..The kind of bashing happening on Zerodha is not right..we re all thinking as individuals...but imagine what zerodha might have to go through as brokers....1000's of people calling and complaining and the worst part being this is an issue with something that is not really under their control..

i think we have to complain to the investor grievance cell against NSE itself for the kind of software they ve given us..:annoyed:

The experience i ve had with zerodha is nothin but wonderful..The kind of replies i get when i send them queries..

but i think they'll have to think bout moving to some other platform if now continues to give such problems..:)

I have been using NSE Now web application for the past 3 months. Is has not gone down even once which I think is great compared to other broker softwares that I had used. Also the streaming and order execution is very fast. The mobile application is great and by far the best I have used. Most importantly I have saved a lot of money on brokerage.

There has been the issue of freezing for a few minutes today and yesterday. But I hope this is an exception and would be fixed. For all the benefits I have got from Zerodha, I am willing to be a little patient....

yours first post in TJ..in 5 years...thanks....

Today, I lost heavily while trading options, and many times panic like situations occurred due to freezing of NOW. Apart from frequent disconnections today, I felt difficulties using soft keys F1, F2, F3, F8 and Alt+F6 as they all got delayed. Price refresh rate freeze made the trades difficult and cumbersome.

Personally, I don't think its a fault of Zerodha, but whatever happened today was horrible and I think its high time for Zerodha to expedite the matter with NOW team.
