I am afraid, I do not agree with you on ANGEL software and website. It is one of the lousiest software for technical analysis. Charts are terrible. Brokerage depends upon your negotiations. They are competitive but incorrect to say "CHEAP" as others are also offering in the same range.
Who said Odin is good for charting? the only good it is, is to place buy/sell orders. I use Amibroker for charting.
I have traded mostly with Angel, Kotak and Sharekhan.
Here is what I found:
Note that these are my experiences and may not hold true in your case.
Angel:
Hidden charges. (They promised they are very transparent, nothing could be further from truth).
Infact it went upto the amount of stealing money. Once paid advanced brokerage for 0.01% and they insisted on offline (phone) trade account only. I insisted on Odin, and then later found they were charging me the normal 0.03%. On pointing it out, I was told that I miscalculated and they suggested that I placed offline orders at different prices. Only when I informed them that I placed orders on ODIN, and have noted the exact amounts the trades were executed, they said that they would refund me the extra brokerage charged.
The brokerage was corrected to 0.01%, but I have not yet received the previous extra brokerage charged.
ODIN is a good software, but it is not developed by Angel, so no credit to them.
Connection is bad at times. disconnection atleast 3-4 times a day. On comlaint they ask me to check my internet connection. (Seriously this is the height of joke).
BackOffice: Often not updated. so you better keep a note of your trades or you would be in for a surprise.
Margin: Never use their margin or they will catch you at the exact wrong moment and make you lose money
Kotak:
Good company
KEAT - their software is a bit slow in executing orders and I would not recommend it for intraday trading.
Go for their trinity account (savings/demat/trading) that gives you a 0 balance savings account.
ShareKhan:
Charges are a bit steep.
But the most transparent I have seen. They clearly told me what they would do and what they would NOT do.
Backoffice is automatically updated and you can see every detail in it.
RM is usually available on Yahoo chat and phone during trading hours.
