NaughtyNifty,

Sure, you have no bad intention, and meant it as a joke.... Accepted. The point I am trying to make is that we do not GO DOWN to level of others - hating someone because of nationality? Think about it - If you do, then you become no different from them.
In my life I believe in many myths and every myth is busted at some time.

Latest myth is " A successful trader must be a Broad-minded person".
I came to this conclusion, coz our mind plays important role in successful trading. I read some where successful trading = 20% technical + 80% mind control. A person who has no ability to think out of the box cannot be a successful trader.
This myth is also busted when, one successful trader address the paki , afgani , arabi as criminals, and degraded them below Humans.

If I recollect TJ rules, writing in other languages leads to deletion of post - as has happened before when some members started commenting in South Indian language.
Yes my signature link also tells that.

hope u have seen news abt panama.. 500 Indians including amitab name is there.
also china's PM and many others.
until tax havens exist, corruption will co-exist. :(
Yeah I read that news through DSM's post. Tax havens even aid Terrorist organisations so what disastrous can there role be.

Leonid,

It is part of human nature.... and based on the environment that it finds, it may thrive (where arbitrary rules exist) and in absence of which may exist, but to a lesser degree.... So even in places like US where corruption can lead to a loss of office, penalties and jail term, there are high level politicians, businessmen and powerful figures who have ended their careers in ignominy. In context of our country, even if the govt. manages to reduce corruption by half, it will mean a great deal. But political influence and money power does not leave much of a trail in most cases.... However, can say as compared to previous UPA regime, we all have to agree that there is considerable progress till date....
True about Human nature. Self restrain lies at the foundation of being corrupt or not. My cousin was in Denmark an year before and he told me stories of people living there and adopting remarkable attitudes towards honesty. He told that if a shopkeeper [vegetable seller] leaves for sometime, he does not lock the doors of the shop. People come pick up the packet of the vegetable they like and keep the money as per the rate printed. He was bewildered to watch this. He said I saw Ram Rajya in a foreign country. :)

So somewhere values are needed to be touched upon by the responsible. People are lured by the easy success through corruption and that is where the herd is lining up one after another to achieve success through short cut.

Lets hope that some divine interference helps India to regain its lost legacy as for human power it seems that the matter has gone out of bounds.

IMO this whole Panama leak thing will be known in history as "The Big Fart". Looks to me like a whole lot of irresponsible journalism just for the sake of sensationalism. I think that the data will either fail the authenticity test, or will be found to be misleading/misinformation.

TP,

The lawyers at the center of controversy of have accepted the authenticity of the doccuments published - but said that they have 'done nothing wrong' Also, the whistle blower in case of Panama papers has done it without any financial benefit. So the doccuments seem to be authentic. In today's world, there are many people who are revolted by the idea of a few people hoarding money to evade taxes from the countries that earn them.... Two days back there was another article of a Russian billionaire spending a billion dollars for his son's wedding.... How obscene and crappy can we get to say the least? (Not denying the right to blow away his money if earned through legitimate means - just as I had read of an vulgar baron burning 100 Pound notes in the fireplace in front of his help - just because he could do it) 62 of the wealthiest people on earth own more than the bottom 60%. There will be a time when people will be disgusted with what they see around them (Money being flaunted by corrupt politicians, crooked businessmen, drug dealers, swindlers and con artist, kings and princes pilfering countries money) and revolt.

We have seen communism fail, and what is now surviving is crony and crooked capitalism - aided by tax havens, lax laws, influence peddlars, and tax cheats.... There is a fine line between tax evasion and tax avoidance. And the rich and conglomerates hide behind legalese to pay their dues off people they earn. This must end.

This is a huge topic, bro. Difficult to put your trust in anything. The lawyers "accepting" authenticity - I am sure that they are descendants of Raja Harishchandra and a clean chit from them is all that the world needs. There was a time we would've accepted videos as the final truth.

I am sceptical of everything that comes out.

Anyway, those guys have said that this is "partial" data. Well, we should ask those hoarders of truth to reveal the "full" data.

TP,

If any other supporting evidence was required, just look at the cache of names uncovered – right across the globe, from Iceland, UK, Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc. So here’s arguments supporting the argument of the papers being authentic :

* Vast diversity of the names (Surprisingly no US names - till now) Maybe in next tranche?

* How would a Panama registered company know have names of Indians such as Amitabh Bachchan, Harish Salve, K.P Singh, Vinod Adani etc?

* E.g Harish Salve whose name was on the list, was the first to defend his Panama account - stating that the account was legitimate and declared to the tax authorities. Coincidence?

* Iceland Prime Minister when asked by TV crew, has not denied having the account, but said he has paid all his taxes.

* Nawaz Sharif’s laywer also defended their ownership of offshore companies after they were named in the Panama papers.

* So if these documents were fake, why are these people justifying its existence? Obviously, because they cannot deny it.

* And the leaked documents are serious enough for our own govt. to form a multi agency team to probe the Indian names.

* And the funniest part. Amitabh Bachchan used to tweet 2-3 times a day on all matters. He also tweeted on West Indies victory. After the Panama papers have been published, his twitter handle has gone silent. :):):)

* Our news channels fight over each other with 'breaking news'. But TV channels are surprisingly quite thanda :lol::lol:. No twitter handle created on the subject. Usually a prominent Mumbai based TV News/Paper takes the lead on the subject. But all seems well - looks like they have decided to print/publish only positive news and focus on development :lol::lol:

As I said, it is a huge topic. This is basically a data dump. Some guys saying their accounts are legitimate, some saying non-existent. The only clarity, IMO, is that it is a cloud of dust and will be out of headlines after due time. Let's see what is the outcome after a few years.

Here's the latest Pakistani joke :

Pathankot attack was drama staged by India to malign Islamabad, says Pakistan JIT: Report

Just a few days after the Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Pathankot terror attack admitted that the four terrorists who attacked the Pathankot Indian Air Force base were from Pakistan, the JIT has said that the Pathankot attack had been staged by India, according to a Pakistani media report.
The JIT "says the attack was a drama staged to malign Pakistan," according to a report in Pakistan Today. It further said that the JIT report, which will be submitted to Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the next few days, has even concluded that Indian authorities had prior information about the terrorists.

The report also quoted a member of the JIT as saying that the NIA officer's murder on Saturday night in Uttar Pradesh showed that "Indian establishment wants to keep the matter under wraps."...................
