"Mid to senior managers with experience in the range of 5-12 years in the IT services industry are at an evolutionary dead end," said Swami Manohar, a former professor at the Indian Institute of Science and the founder of PicoPeta Simputers, a tablet maker that was founded when iPads were unheard of.
I realized this 3 yrs back and started to learn trading and quit last year from IT. Not going to lie , but IT gave a steady & decent pay check but it was not worth it in terms of sacrifices you make , your health, your time, the daily grind and you know you will be sacked one day or forced to leave because younger managers are more cheaper. This usually happens around bonus time.
I used to be a near the top management and i saw things that did not give me the confidence in IT. There is no room to grow once you a manager or even a technical architect in these IT service companies. They are always looking to make bigger profits and guess what , they try to get rid of employees who's CTC eats a bigger pie of profits and make no mistake - you are replaceable no matter how good you are.
Always better to have a exit strategy......
