Sir,
I recently downloaded your software.I was happy for your service.But when I analyse the data I was socked by the error in that.For example I downloaded EOD data for the years 1997,1998 when I manualy checked the converted data there are so many repetitions like many dates have several error entries for example ACC check the following dates

ACC,19970326,1575,1575,1550,1550,20,
ACC,19970326,1581,1584.7,1536,1542.85,194170,

Same date have two kind of different price entries which one is correct.If these kind of error exist in your data what is use for free software.I attached the converted data by your software for scripts ACC & ABB.

Sir your software is very much useful for us.Thank you for your help.But there are some errors in your software.I downloaded Equity data for the year 1997.I was happy it completed within few minitues.Then I converted the data and referred the directory C:\Program Files\EODdlc\DATA\NSE\EQUITIES\Converted\StockWise and opened ACC script data thru notepad.I found lot of duplicate entries like the following
ACC,19970326,1575,1575,1550,1550,20,
ACC,19970326,1581,1584.7,1536,1542.85,194170,
I referred NSE website when I download the historic price volume data for ACC for the year 1997 the same kind of problem exist in that data also.Later I realised the entries are EQ and BE.You have given three selection criteria under series EQ,BE,Both.Your software is not eliminating the data belongs to BE series even when we select EQ series.

Thanks for your kind words.

There are some issues as you have rightly pointed out.It appears that screening logic (if EQ is present, ignore BE) is not working properly.Because that screening logic was built in , the selection of EQ,BE or Both was ignored.

As many members have posted better and useful download utilities I thought it may not be used by many members ( after all it is a freeware), I was relatively inactive.I see lot of posts are still coming here I will have a relook and post updated version soon. Till such time bear with me.

Thanks for your prompt response.One more error I located in your software.When I download particular set of data and save the whole data to some other directory other than default. Later I tried to convert the data to usable format your software is not recognising the data properly.For example when I want to convert data from 1st JAN1997 to 31DEC1997.I could not understand what basis your software ordering the data.It is like 1 date of every month,2nd date of every month like that.One more point first we download 1JAN2007 to 03SEP2007 later we want to add prvious years data like 1JAN2006 to 31DEC2006 your software should insert the new data in proper place then only it will be treated as professional software. Please solve the problems I mentioned in your program as soon as possible.

Hi

Ordering of data will mostly depend on dates and naming of files. It is tuned for NSE and BSE file naming convention. If you change it may throw unexpected results.

Second point is that it was meant for serial append of data. So first time user will download all historical data at one go and then keep updating daily.
Insertion of data is slightly more advanced, though not difficult.

All this could have been done using data base but then all users may not have necessary drivers for that. As such Windows, by itself puts enough of troubles with missing this or that files. So it was a conscious decision to go for flat files whose manipulation becomes little tricky.

I will try to implement your ideas, though I have no ambition of making it a professional one ( meaning paid software). Its an amature's work for Traderji.com members.Suggestions for improvement is always welcome.

I doesnot mean I made change in file names.I just copy and past the downloaded data to some other place and later tried to convert to metastock format your conversion part of software is not properly recognising old data(not related to current download).

Hi Pankaj,

Thank you very much for providing such a nice utility.

I have downloaded the last setup installation and then downloaded the .exe file once again and replaced in Program folder were the first exe file was placed.

I would like to bring following points to your notice.

1) When I downloaded data from NSE using your downloader , it is fine.

2) When I converted data, which was downloaded using your utility as I said in 1 above, after selecting default option, data were converted nicely.

3) But when I tried to convert the data downloaded from some yahoo group (because those data have the open interest in it and the same is not available in NSE Bhavcopy), I could not convert the data properly.
The utility has deleted the source files and did not created new stockwise files.

Would you please look into mater and help me.

Would you please also post new help file in your directory if you have one.
