EOD Download/ Convert from NSE and BSE

Hi

can I assume that MCX and NCDEX download for more than one day is working now?

Sorry to not mention about mcx and ncdex download question in my previous post. It is successfully downloaded mcx & ncdex data. I have tested above 1 year of data there is no problem to download both the data.

thank you...

with regards....

Thanks for confirming it.

You were little adventurous to download one year's data on Beta version. But it proves that function works. other aspects are being looked into.

difference in Options data converting older - beta

Hi pankaj

I have observed one difference in converting options data in older version comparing to beta version.

Older version looks like this :

NIFTY-I-CE-4250,20080422,780,780,780,780,5,64650,

In Beta version this is the format :

NIFTY-CE-4250-24Apr2008,20080422,780,780,780,780,5,64650

In beta version expiry date is added to ticker symbol. And there is no I, II, III (far, near, next month) option. Is there any option to avoid this expirty date to ticker symbol or you added this option to ticker symbol wantedly. I don't know which one is better. I'm asking just curiosity to know the purpose if you add this wantedly. Otherwise (i think) there is mismatch in database.

I have modified portfolio.bin file in older version. The changes i have made in portfolio.bin is i added nse indices names. So, Can i copy and use that same file in beta version also.

thanks....

Thanks for the observation on FNO conversion. It appears inadvertent slip up.

I would prefer the old way of symbols. Will check thant and change it.

I think you can not use old portfolio.ini for that as now scrips for portfolio is taken from database. If you can open access database then in LISTEDEQUITIES_NSE table you will find all indices names . Symbol part you don't touch but name part can be changed to what you had. Symbol part (it is first field) is used to construct URL and download data. Same thing for BSE Indices. Check them in LISTEDEQUITIES_BSE table.

Filter data in NSE table SERIES='ID'
BSE Table GROUP='ID'

rediff link should work. But that is unsupported now since new beta version is released. You can find the link few posts earlier.

I am attending to errors and final version will be released quickly, if you can wait.

Hi abcd

This one is completed. Now it will be just as in old version , as pointed out by you. There was some thinking that expiry dates might help.
Appending string I II III or other string is added via options >> settings page.

This one is done. Others in the queue :)

Format should be
ticker, name, date, open, high, low, close, volume, openinterest

Openinterest is the number of shares delivered. To get delivery percentage of the actual shares traded, I think, you will have to divide it by volume and then multiply it by 100

Delivery Precentage = (Open Interest/Volume) * 100
Yes This one is correct. It tallies with the figures provided in the delivery files.

Thanks for clarifying.

Hi Pankaj,

I prefer the newer format. Will this format still be usable?

Kalyan.

Hi Kalyan

I don't really know. May be when I give next release (in a day or two) you can check if this format is still usable else we can revert to new format or better still in final version for you new format will be compiled and given and for others old format. But it will be difficult to maintain two different formats for FNO Symbols.
