Tried the third option. It still gives the same result.

Dr. Shukla would really appreciate if you would let me know the process you are using to get data into Ambi.

Dear Neo,
you can use import vizard of ami to import the cvs data directly. like...
file>importvizard>>pickdata>>>(selectfolder ..files)>>>next .... and than define appropriate field value in dialogue box and this will import the cvs data directly to ami.
The whole procedure is given beutifuly some where in this forum you can also try to search and see it in detail.

I tried importing it without converting but I believe I am making a mistake with the columns part in the import settings.
Is it possible to send me a screenshot of the different columns as defined by you in the settings?

column 1=ticker;column2=skip;column3=open;coplumn4=high;coluumn5=low;
column6=close;column7=skip;column8=skip;column9=volume;column10=skip;
column11=DMY;column12=skip.....
Apart from this check boxes for log error,automatically 'add new symbols,no quatation data and allow negative prizes...

I think this should solve the problem. also try help section of the ami ....to see some more lights..

Do the sofware work on windows vista home premium platform. While trying to install I am getting an error message
'Description: Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user. Number 2147217843 (80040E4D)JetErr:3028.
I have installed dotnet.fix ver 2.0
I have shutdown and restarted twice to check whether the issue gets resolved or not. But the error is persisting.

The same is working fine with windows XP professioanl version.

As of now it doesn't need dotnet.

Your error is related to missing mdw file.In data folder you will see two files, one eoddlc.mdb and another is eoddlc.mdw. This second file is missing so you are getting this error.
In full installation this file should be present.

However you can download data.zip file and extract eoddlc.mdw.

However, I have not tested it on vista. So don't know if you will face some other problem. If it doesn't work I may be of limited help.

Just take ticker, date ohlcv as sequence .Leave expiry date.
Convert and resultant data should be compatible with amibroker then import in AMI through import wizard.

Alternatively you can run AMI and goto

file>>Database Settings
In the dialogbox

select Data Source as ODBC/SQL Universal Data Plugin

Base Time Interval as End-of-Day

Then Click Configure and in the resulting Dialog box Click PICK ODBC Data Sources

In the nex dialogbox select Machine Data source

All ODBC data cource will be visible

Select EODDlc (it should be visible)

Click ok
