Dear Sir,
I have great respect for you, your knowledge and for your thread. I request you to please focus on what you do, and ignore the negativity and small talk from others. Replying to them is giving them more mileage and wasting your time. What you think about yourself is important. No matter how good you are, there will always be people who will find fault with you. Trust me on this, because even if God were to walk on this earth today, people will find fault and remove their frustration on him.
I remember reading a quote, which I think is very true, and something that I believe in. It says :
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent - Eleanor Roosevelt.
How true it is. We live in a world where from the time we start the day, open the paper, hear the news, or talk with anybody there is only negative talk. Please do not be drawn into it. And if somebody is aruging that dogs have three legs, do not try to convince him with proof. You will only waste your time, energy and mood.
As a well wisher, I suggest to start and end the day reading something positive and inspirational. Even if it is for 5 minutes, your start will be good, and while sleeping, your mind for the next 8 hours will take in and reflect on what postive things you read last.
Sorry for this bit long post. But will share with you something else - It's called the 'Law of the Garbage Truck' . I hope it conveys the message.
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, The Law of the Garbage Truck.
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it, and sometimes theyll dump it on you. Dont take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Dont take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Lifes too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, soLove the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who dont. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!
Have a blessed, garbage-free day - D.J. Pollay
