Nifty Futures Positional Trading

Here is the fundamental question. Why options? Why not futures with the same logic mentioned before?
If news is negative and there is a gap against, then Futures will bleed me more. Else, I'd go with Futures. Most certainly. Trade management is more transparent.

This time around, buying Options is also a pain.... there is almost 20 points of volatility in ATM calls which will wear off my tomorrow afternoon... sad..

Heavy premium of 44 points in NF indicates one thing and one thing only...

Big Pockets carried forward their long positions from July. Market did not even take a breathes and went ramming down. This did not give them a chance to alight.

So, as the market goes closer to the average, the losing longs will take that door and the premium will come down.
Trapped bulls are getting out in this rally. Premium down to 30 points.

Exited shorts EOD... a very dull Exit. Especially when I knew 5680 was good bet...

Did not take longs... nothing makes sense.
It was a good decision to take out shorts.

Big-pocket Bulls have been setting us up the entire time. They have been waiting and expecting Benny to make a dovish statement tonite. And hence allowed uninformed bears, like us, to build positions.

Only to open 100 points gap-up tomorrow which would create panic as we run for cover!
Bang on. Market up 125 points from lows.

But the real question is, Did I make any money in this rally?

NO... being a positional trader could not convince myself to go against the trend.

But, will most certainly take short positions a little higher.

Was never really a fan of chasing the price.

This intraday fall has presented an opportunity. If a 30 min (or a clear 15 min pivot) forms, I will go positional long with a time SL and point SL.

Most likely a 15 min pivot will be formed; Thursdays often do that.

With 20% reduced Risk... going Long, if I get a fill at 5720.05 Spot... else no trade.

SL of 27 points, stretching well below LOD.

Exit 5861 Spot.

Well, pivot in place... but is too high up. I have no other option but to take-up a more risky trade by entering before a breakout.

Finally saw a theek thaak setup... entered with a 20% lesser risk... since I think I am missing an edge or two.

Long 5753.50 SL 16 points... Target (5861+premium)
