BTW, since everyone seems fixated on Auto maker bail out package, US will have to worry about the biggest bank, Citibank...they are in a much more desperate need of a bail out, and if they let Citibank fail; then god save the equities...then Satda's dream of 1366 will be realized in December itself...

And, no, they will not let Citi fail...it will be bailed out...but people will use it as just another reason to short :D

BTW, where is Satda? we need his charts/posts...even Sunil is missing...what is going on? Can some one post the link to Satda's chart where he pointed Nifty at 1366, and Dow also at a very low level...anyone?

And, one more question to ask is what effect will the expiry have?

Oh did I mention that another US Bank failed..too bad that they reported this after market hours, otherwise this last hour rally in Dow would have fizzled....

no idea PK...i wish i could tell ;) but anyways, forget this bank, the more important news is Citi Bank and the Auto industry...we are in this for long term, these small rallies cannot take away the real pain...no one has seen the real pain yet..this is once in a lifetime kind of event, and it takes more than just rallies to get out of it...wait till dow and S&P break down...dow is too close to testing its Oct lows...

4 days of trading left in Nov series..so lets say if we get to 2850 region, then to get to 2005, we will need consecutive 4 days of 200 point down move to bring us to that level...if that happens, wow....

Yesterday's close of 80.86 was the highest for the VIX....since Sept. 15, it began a string of closes above 30. Assuming the index finishes the week above this level, the streak will surpass the current record of 49 days, set in August-October 1998.
The chart also displays the S&P 500's volatility, as determined by its swings during the past 30 trading days. The indicator closed yesterday at 80.69, almost matching the VIX's level.

Coming to our VIX (Anxiety Index) after touching a high value of 85 ,it has cooled downed to 64~65 levels.we can say value less than 50 , is psychologically,a comfort zone.
