Thanks. I am still working on backfilling intraday options and futures data but not yet succeded but have confident on getting it sometime later. Sure, will check Elwave in my free time and let you know my comments.

totally agree with u techdump, same is the case with me, as happy client of viratech but its also way too costly, learn2trade is good frnd of mine n v often discuss on various data vendors n recent sw releases.
I really appreciate the efforts u putting in to, ur sw is really helpful for plotting option graph as it gets feed directly from my odin, which is the thing most vendors charge extra for it.
btw is there any solution to backfill todays intra day data for options or nifty future? i tried yesterday but it backfill prev day data not current day data, i knw its hard to do that as odin dnt backfill itself, but is there any other way around? thanks in advance
edit : there is one technical analysis software i use 'ELWAVE' by now only way to get data feed to elwave is esignal, not even viratech or others nor there help team any help lol, in a free time if possible have a look on this providinjg the link of the site where u can get demo of elwave

Dear JPatel,

ChartsData has been programmed like the charts and backfill options will work only -
when you create yahoo profiles-watch list when YAHOO is chosen or
when you select the ODIN Market Watch to view the ODIN selected scripts in ChartsData.
else, to which script will you backfill and to which TA software?? to avoid this complication i had programmed not to enable untill you list out the scripts/watch lists.

If you have choosen YAHOO, radio buttons (Charts & Backfill) will work only when you create profiles.

You can create profiles by following the following steps
1. click Modify or Create button and it will take you to a new window named "Yahoo Profile Update"
2. Select the scripts you want to watch and click "Save"
3. You can see the datas appeared for the selected scripts.
4. Now select whatever radio buttons you want to update charts or to backfill.

If you have choosen ODIN, then you need to select the market watch to enable radio buttons of TA-Charts & BACKFILL cash/f&o.

Hope this clarifies.

Hello sir,
first of all Thenks a lot for realesing the new version of software to the public..
i installed it but can able to use.

in 'National' tab all buttons are inactive and cannot be selected. my data sources is ODIN, when i starts ODIN i can see watch list in CHARTDATA but cant update it.

thats my problem,pleas help me

As i already said, no offence meant either and thanks for your comments. As a novice trader, i must have done the same as our final aim is to trade better (want to aim for best ) and it is not possible with data/chart interruptions as well, which will ruin your day.

The problem I am facing is similar to what patel has reported now.

The two attachments may give a visual fell of the problem.

While my OS is Vista and I tried with Yahoo option, patel's OS is XP and he tried with ODIN option.

thank you very much for providing us this nice software. i am facing a problem.
while backfilling 1 MIN and 5 MIN , 1m and 5m are added at the end of each symbol which in turn are considered as different symbols in FCHARTS etc. finally we get 3 symbols for a single company like ABAN, ABAN_1M, ABAN_5M
Creating 2 folders for two different time frames (one for 1MIN backfilling and another one for 5MIN backfilling ) may solve this problem eg.
1. C:\ChartsData\Csv\1MIN
2. C:\ChartsData\Csv\5MIN
THIS may help you to remove 1MIN and 5MIN at the end of symbols.

Dear murthymsr,

Snapshots cleary shows that you had created profiles but the scripts were not displayed with quotes. This will happen when a sub-program named "WebData" used to extract yahoo data was not loaded along with ChartsData or you might have manually closed WebData.exe from system tray. Just ensure whether this is running in the system tray with caption "CHARTSDATA - QUOTE EXTRACTION", Data Extraction in process... if not then your profile wont update and the sections CHARTS-TA and CASH/FnO BACKFILL will be disabled.

Just point FCHARTS - Live Data dialog to C:\ChartsData\FCharts folder and do your backfill or realtime data extraction, such that the program will fetch both realtime data from (FChartsData.txt) and Backfill historical datas from (FCHistData.txt). You might have located FCharts to point C:\ChartsData\Csv instead of C:\ChartsData\FCharts folder and thats the reason you are getting 3 different symbols for one script. Just point FCharts to correct folder C:\ChartsData\FCharts and go ahead with Live Data update and backfill. You can find the last realtime updated data and last backfilled data in the above said text files.
