Dear V.V,

I have included EOD futures and options backfill facility in this version. I don't have PIB environment to include as another option to data transfer. Will check it and include PIB along with ODIN and YAH00 in future.

Symbol Modification Facility is good but it will not suit everyone, but will take this in to consideration and implement this facility in my next version.

Dear Loganathan Sir,

Can you Give Ticker Name (Symbol) Modification Facility, Before Upload the data to TA Software? If it Possible We May Use Chartsdata for RT PURPOSE and PIB DATA For Backfill Purpose.

Example :
Nifty Current Month Symbol is Showing in Metastock (using PIB) : FUTNIFTY-29JA

Nifty Current Month Symbol is Showing in Metastock (using Chartsdata+ODIN) : NIFTY_JAN

If you give Modification option in Chartsdata, we Can Modify the Nifty Symbol Name to PIB Symbol Name (FUTNIFTY-29JA) . After We May Change this We Can Merge Both Data in one Database. Please Consider this .

Snapshots cleary shows that you had created profiles but the scripts were not displayed with quotes. This will happen when a sub-program named "WebData" used to extract yahoo data was not loaded along with ChartsData or you might have manually closed WebData.exe from system tray. Just ensure whether this is running in the system tray with caption "CHARTSDATA - QUOTE EXTRACTION", Data Extraction in process... if not then your profile wont update and the sections CHARTS-TA and CASH/FnO BACKFILL will be disabled.

Yes, webdata.exe is running every time ChartsData is started and is not closed by me or by my OS or AntiVirus SW. (Pl. see the screen Shot.)

Anyway, I will be running again during tomorrow's market and observe.

But, is it possible to get index data from other exchanges like ^AORD, ^FTSE and ^DJI through the yah00 option so that we can test run the application during the off market hours. This will help first time users to get familiarised with the ChartsData and also to customise the TA software without loss of any 'Trading Hours'.

Dear Jignesh,

Just select that MARKET WATCH to start ODIN data transfer and to enable CHARTS - TA and CASH/FnO BACKFILL sections. Please refer to the attached screenshot.

Could you please mail me your ODIN screenshot and few other technical details like ODIN version, your OS version, browser version, broker you have account with etc?... coz i personally checked out with almost all brokers and worked fine in my desktop, will try to trace out where ChartsData was interrupted from working fine...

I am an ODIN user to transfer data to Metastock, the Intraday utility is working fine and Chartsdata updates to Metastock when ODIN updates.
Although I have tried using Cash backfill for 5min 5day backfill, I do not know in which file it updates.
How do I make the backfill data fill up the gaps in intraday data in C:\ChartsData\MSData\MinuteData supposing I have switched off the computer for 1 hour in between market hours ?
Can I do so and if yes please can you give me a step by step process of configuring it ?

I am currently using XP OS , now I am going to try out the application in Windows 7 if it works out.

Dear Saneil,

If Metastock backfilling, Intraday datas will be updated to the same intraday script file under folder C:\ChartsData\MSData\MinuteData and EOD datas will be updated to the same EOD script file under C:\ChartsData\MSData\EODData. You can see the backfilled data either in the Downloader or can refresh chart with corresponding frequency to see the changes in Charts.

5 min 5 day backfill will work only for the previous 5 days and not for today. If you want to fill the gap for today, backfill it with 1 min - last 1 day backfill as it will backfill todays data from the start. So, if you are out of place during market hours and want to backfill todays data, just select 1 min - last 1 day backfill to see todays chart.

my OS is Window XP SP-2 and my ODIN version is 9.1.0.5

where to get odin, i beleive it is free.
i have down loaded from the web but it asks for user name and password

my screen resolution is 1024x768 and i use window xp sp2
the application overflow the screen and no scroll bar appears to move the window i have tried 96dpi as well as 124 dpi but it makes no difference. the application has to be closed using task manager
