I did face disconnection problems from the quote server many times before the upgrade. Nothing to do with my net connection other sites were working fine. The problem was also confirmed by RKG tech rep. Other issues were rare and insignificant.

I could see NSE cash segment prices on 24th. Today I didnot check.

The quote problem seems to have dwindled after the uprgrade, and the chart module though not working now seems to have gone through an overhaul. So once stabilized we may see a much better product.

Lets hope for the best.

PS: Other silly bugs have been preserved intact in the new version (Like the order book wont update if opened initially with your workspace, unless you close it and reopen it once.

I don't face this problem with order book. I have created a workspace with market watch (3 symbols only), Market picture and order book. In my case, as soon as I put in an order/modify it I get to see it in order book. Order book opens up along with workspace when I log in.

Try changing filter in order book and save it again (I use all filter here). I did this when I created the workspace.

I did notice one change after the upgrade. I have signed up for only NSE F&O. Earlier I could see quotes from BSE/MCX/NSE cash in market watch even though I am eligible only for FO. Since this upgrade I don't see SENSEX (in indices) or the rest of the quotes in market watch

Have signed for NSE F&O only as well. Learnt from the rep that when the account is configured at the Mumbai server, a flag governs if cash quotes are viewable and, according to him, there was a 50-50 chance that they would leave it on. I had made it a precondition that cash quotes should be viewable. As of today, I could see NSE spot symbols in the market watch. Do not use BSE but will check on Monday. In any case, market watch has a limit of 20 symbols for me. Aim to complain and hassle them about this once the dust on the current upgrade settles.

Lets hope for the best.

This is what is unsettling. A company with sales over 100 crores has a product into version 9 that is said to have a market share of 70% and still feels like a beta.

This order book bug occurs sometimes even when set with saved workspace. What I have got to doing is click on one of the fields on the top, say 'Select Exchange, and press enter. This results in a message such as 'No records found' in red. Subsequently, updates are fine.

If I want to short say 2000 shares of HDFC on margin(intraday). Is it necessary that the best 5 must offer a total of 2000 quantity....

no..for your trade to be executed , buy ORDERS[including best 5] for 2000 shares should be there at or a greater price you quote . if not your order status would be pending .

So you mean to say I can short say 5000 shares provided there are buyers to buy these shares at a price which >= to what I have quoted....

What about the "Trades(F8)" and "Integrated Net Position" window? are they working properly? are they updating properly after a trade is done?

Hey!can u guys place market orders in nifty futures through rk??I tried but couldn't.Tried placing a sell order with a very low price to mimic a market order and my order got frozen and margin blocked!!
Somebody please help!!
