SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

Hi all,

A quick recap on my stock futures position. I am not including any exit at 3 EMA not touching and re-entering at 3 EMA touch trades for the sake of ease.

NIfty Futures- Longs initiated at 4925 on 26th Feb bullish 315 crossover. Today at 5240. Holding.

ICICI Futures - Longs initiated at 834 on 16th Feb bullish 315 crossover. Today at 942. Holding.

Unitech - Longs initiated at 74.15 on 2nd March bullish crossover. MAde a high of 79.55 and now at 76. Holding.

IFCI - longs since 51.70 on 26th Feb. Made a high of 55.55 and now at 52.45. I have closed this position today without any reason.

Closed NF longs now at 5268 (3 EMA not touching yet).

Closed ICICI Bank longs at 947 now.

I have one question regarding this strategy. In the above post you mentioned 20 stock futures you follow for this strategy.

But usually I don't trade in futures.

My question is can I apply this to trade the stocks in normal positional trading. For example 3 days before ABG Shipyard stock gave buy signal as per 315 strategy. I bought this that day but stock down 3% after that but still 315 sell signal not yet generated.

Is this ok to follow this strategy for all stocks? or you suggest to apply to only futures stocks?

If you do not trade future you cannot take a short trade. One has to look at historical charts to see whether 315 strategy is suitable or not for that particular script. Back test the same and decide if it is working, i.e giving profits most of the time!! If it is, go ahead and trade it otherwise look for other stocks!! If ABG has given positive results in the past than do trade it but as it is not in futures you cannot take short trade in it!!!

Dear masala,

Yes 315 can be applied to stocks, futures, forex etc .... the security in question should be volatile and should be trending in nature .. thats it.

If you decide to trade based on 315 in cash equities only, you will only make money in bull market since you wont be able to short in cash during a bear market.

A portion of the doji like formation is still above the 3 ema, may be we can wait for tomorrow's close for confirmation. But we get a clear confirmation only from SH bhai.
If tomorrow open is below the todays low of 73.20 can we go short?
