it may happen that those using getbhavcopy or data downloader of joy may not get data hereafter. so there may be end of happy charting . but subscribing a comercial vender may not resolve the issue as there is no vender who may feed data both in ami and meta

true! getbhavcopy server is not responding since two days! enough of free stuff!! time to shift to a paid data source i guess!!

but how to feed both ami and meta , u have to subscribe both AMI AND META DATA

Guys,

Instead of breaking your head so much... why not just download .csv bhavcopy directly from NSE only thing you will need to create a new database & configure it as per csv...... start using some elbow grease..... it is not the end of the world.....

These post should have been in the appropriate thread "Datafeeds". As they are here I am also posting here itself. May be Savant can move them later.

There are other free data sources. For example: taprico.blogspot.com and nidhidatasystems (nds.ginfosol.com) and several others where you can download EOD data in csv format for free. The csv format is compatible with AmiBroker and MetaStock also should be able to read the text file without any problems.

I have used the above sources when there was problem with GetBhavcopy. But I am facing a strange problem. AmiBroker reads the csv files and updates the quotes and charts. But none of the AFLs are able to work with that data. They work only upto the date for which data was supplied through GetBhavcopy. If I overwrite the data read from other sources with data from GetbhavCopy then everything works normally again. I am perplexed with this behaviour of Amibroker. No solution so far. This is the reason why I have not posted the triggers and updates for Nov 1, 2011 in Chapter-II.

Any suggestions?

I have separate database of EOD with file mask as .csv & that works fine....

Is it possible that you maybe facing this problem because of 2 different file masks (.txt) & (.csv) merged in the same database..
