Thanks for the effort... cleared a lot and made me read up some more . Lots clear now.. e.g an increase in puts at a strike price is actually a bullish sentiment and increase in call writing at a strike price is actually bearish ..

Maybe i ll ask more as we go along if you dont mind...

=> selling a 4600 PE today at those levels was a strong bullish sign.

=> selling a 4700 CE would be great too near 4730 levels if weakness is still there / no strong upside at that level.

=> which means selling a Sep 4700 PE would not be bad either if one expects market to bounce back 2mrw /day after onwards..

=> or .. if same levels like later today then.. sell two 4600 PE and simultaneously buy a 4700 call ..to offset premium

tell me if my thought process is right pls.. tho am not quite sure if you 're LYAO

An Uptrust with high volume on with negative closing shows weakness in the stock. Think!!!! There is a huge volume on the day. If the volume contained mailly of buying, Why will the price of the stock sink??? The negative closing price indicates that the selling was more compared to buying.

I dont know the answer for the second part of the question

Thanks for that.. yes i do remember your posts on new entrants and option writing... i was just wondering if my thought process on what to do is correct and then paper it and go along that way till i have gotten the hang of it... so is it ?

BTW.. just checked Dow and NasD up in green... hopefully europe wont affect them... some time i wonder why these guys on CNBC were talking about de coupling not so long ago....ha ha..

I reproduce Kartik/Bunny's post,

'High volume Upthrust are a sure indication of weakness, higher the Volume the stronger the indication. It may be even wise to get out of the stock if the Upthrust has ultra high volume.

Wider the spread more potent the Upthrust

Lower the closer the stronger the indication of weakness. Ideally it should close should be the Low. If the close is towards the middle it would mean than the SM was not successful in marking the price down. There was too much demand.

An ideal Upthrust will move into new territory. The High will be very much higher than the high of the previous bar. This means the SM was really successful in marking the price up and many traders get trapped into bad positions in the end of the day.

Upthrusts are effective when the trend has been in force for some time. Sometime you would find weak up thrusts in early trends.

Many times you will Upthrusts with low volume. I call them Pseudo Upthrusts. These are not effective as the Upthrust. But are still signs of weakness'

In my opinion,ICSA satisfies all the above.

Guys,
I am just checking the daily charts of UNITECH. I have observed that UNITECH mostly moves with the indices, in not in the same proportion, atleast in the same direction.

From the VSA perspective, seeing its action in the last 2-3 sessions, it looks bullish. So I am drawing a conclusion that perhaps indices are also geared for a bullish action.

VSA:

If you see the action on last few candles, except the last one(today's), it crossing a strong resistance line with great volumes and very wide spreads. This is an typical action of a bullish operator who wants to persuade the locked-in traders to not sell. What we are going through now is probably a test of supply.

Only time will tell how good this analysis holds. Meanwhile, I am long on 1 lot minifty entered around 4636.

I went through ICSA charts, there is some temporary weakness as reasoned by Chaitanya, but overall, it seems bullish.
