i totally disagree with you. i am a learner and find value in all worthwhile writing, which yours is. i am not half as knowledgeable as a few others claim to be. i try to collect and assimilate as much as possible. i have not come across lucid examples like 5 fingers for uptrend/downtrend anywhere else. so carry on with your good stuff.

and finally i had heard that "ignorance is bliss", but now after interacting with a few characters here i also learnt that often "ignoring is bliss".

Right,let's get back to learning and sharing............As said before,this thread was always for those who are new and to those who are relatively new.......the very fact that there are some who find this helpful for their first steps means that this thread will continue.

Till date,we are in an uptrend.........We have had swing downs and ups,but as a longer term player,we do nothing but hold till a pivot low on the weekly is taken out.So far that has yet too happen..........we are therefore LONG till the time comes to go SHORT.

Dear Saint,
Very nice explanation.
Can you post similar example for getting out for position traders. I feel exit is very difficult task and as I have read from this forum and books traders fail mostly not because of bad entry, but because of early or very late exit. That will be useful for many beginners like me.

The 'fingers explanation'?
Its also used by Bill Williams in his book Trading chaos to explain fractals/trend trades. It is entirely possible that Saint also independently discovered this. Anyway the explanation is good and Saint explains things just a touch differently from Bill Williams. So both get credit for good explanations.

no sir, i have very clearly said where my mistake was. neither was i angry for pointing out mistakes. manufacturing quotes is a different ballgame, but for me thats PAST.

i have no probs in admitting mistakes. and i never said that u have no knowledge in systems development. quants guys like you are an asset to any person/organization if utilized properly. but unfortunately thats the end of the story. converting quants to successful trading is a different matter altogether, or else every quant would be a new David Shaw. hope you are utilized properly by yourself or anyone else. rest of the stuff, i stand by. and yes, i mean trading systems, not computer systems.

your info about bill williams was enlightening. just as asish said lets leave this great thread alone.
