The Dow is not weighted average - it is the sum of the prices of individual stocks multiplied by a factor (approx 20).

So, to rally or break the Dow, you only have to target the highest priced stocks. Percentage-wise, these stocks will have changed little ... but they can create a huge effect on the Dow.

It is easy to push up Goldman Sachs from $70 to $72, than to push up GM from $4 to $6. Both will cause a 40 pt move in the Dow.

So relax .... be patient ...

In S&P 500, bulls & bears fighting over 820-840 will be double bottom or not. IMO, if S&P 500 closes below 850-900 on weekly basis then bulls will be broke.

I believe, it is more of a political gimick.....!

When the Crude was shooting up and the UPA Govt raised the Petrol-Diesel rates from time to time, which became the primary cause for the prices to rise and the inflation......

When Crude cooled down, Govt is mum and is NOT reducing the rates, and is managing to keep the inflation rates high.

All Bogus Nautanki
Govt just waiting for elections to come near for reducing price of petrol:D
agar jaldi gira diye to log bhul jayenge na:eek:
