Smart_trade,

Firstly,if someone is already in short position on the day following 13 countdown bar day and there is recycling like in this case, and the stop loss is hit,in that case whether first set up will be considered for comparison or it will be treated as failed set up.
And if
Secondly ,In the above chart for calculating the length of set up close of bar (a) or low bar(b) will be taken into consideration to compare the set ups.

Finally how could have made the above trade or would have waited for change in trend?

Thanks

manikwadhwa,

1) Sequential stoplosses are on closing basis, so stoploss is yet to trigger. But if it triggers, the earlier setup is not considered any further. Now the operative set up is the one which got completed today.

2) For calculating set up length , true low is considered ( which means low or the earlier bar's close whichever is lower ) so it is close of bar "a"

3) Taking a short trade on the red candle after sequential countdown 13 is correct. One could have avoided if one waited for either a flip, or a close lower than the earlier days close or some other DeMark technique like TD point reversal etc. But the tradeoff is late entry....:D so entry on the next day of the countdown completion is fine.....it may hit a stoploss, but that is part of the game.

It seems Nifty has completed Sell Setup 2 days back. However, as part of this setup, it breached through the TDST resistance. This could be a signal for trend extension. [ My favorite was swing trades where the index/scrip barely fails to breach support or resistance, and this is new territory - in terms of demark setups ].
Which TDST resistance you are referring to , SJD ? I dont see any buy set up and TDST ....am I missing something or are you considering 8 bars set up ?

Sequential sell signal is still valid. It has not yet hit the stoploss....let us see how the move unfolds further.

I think here sanjoseji is referring to resistance line at 5399... Which i would see as not a resistance in the current case....!!!

sorry for the very delayed reply.... was busy with my first wife... (i am not married but consider my profession as my first wife, trading is the 2nd)

anyways its never late to share!!!

here is the jetairways 3min chart of 4thdecember...

the vertical red line was my buy as it was near the TDST resistance line with a hope that it will breach the resistance and move upward

the sl was kept at yesterdays close.

the quick move up made a sell setup which raised the TDST support line which in turn became for me a trailing stoploss!!!

warm regards

Sorry man, just intended to point out that setup completed. All other commentary is based on the RED/BLUE lines drawn by AFL which by this time are seriously outdated as they do not get revised until a full setup completes.
