The margin benefit is certainly higher in case of stock futures but in case of index futures also there is a benefit. But pls keep in mind that's not the only use of a cover order :)
Of course. The margin benefit is not much, 40% instead of 50%.

Cover order is basically a Market order, isn't it ? It is not a "buy above" or "sell below" kind or order ??

Hello VNS

Not really. It is sort of daily P&L. In the opening / closing balance, I want to see the total amount available.

With VPS my friend used to get more margin benefit with cover order.

Banknifty futures 1 lot required around Rs. 7,000 when BNF was trading at around 11,800 .

TSO has stricter margin policy it seems with 40% required even for a Cover Order.

Sorry just realized we missed this.
Yes, the orders in a cover order go as a market order. And there's an automatic stop loss order placed with it which is also an SL-M order.

Hello traderite,
There seems to be some misunderstanding. We'd encourage you to check with NOW if this can be done.

Let's take an example,

Value of 1 lot of Banknifty @ 11800 = 11800 x 25 = 295000
Margin % at Rs 7000 /lot = (7000/295000) x 100 = 2.3%

Considering the stop loss is to be 1% below this 2.3%, it'll have to be around 1.3%.

According to NOW team, this can not be done as they have fixed the stoploss % at 2.5-3%.

So if you are looking for margin benefit, yes it'd be much more in case of stock futures.

Currently there's a feature missing in NOW without which we'd not like to start cover orders in stock futures. We've requested NOW to include the same. Once that is done, it'll be launched for stock futures too.

Since last 2-3 days, the messages are showing up as small popups from the bottom left of the screen. Black text on light blue background.

This is much better, not disturbing. Good job :thumb:
TP bhai , I don't get any messages at all. Has anything to be done through Settings ? I am new to NOW so somewhat confused.
