Prasad,

If The Bearish Crossover Is Confirmed Then It Can Be Bearish For A Few Days

It Is Easy To Get Whipsawed For A Couple Of Days.

In Such An Event For Those Not Having Very Big Margin Of Safety On Their Entry May Exit Their Long But Not Go Short.

savant ji,

This is NF daily. with sma 5&6 BB 9,2

is it a bearish crossover?

or we have to ignore it because it is settlement week?

HI Savant / Doc / Prasadm,

While going through this thread I have now encountered two sets of chart settings:

SMA 4 and 5 with Bollinger at 20,2

SMA 5 and 6 with Bollinger 9,2
To add to the confusion, I read about an SMA 5, 9 somewhere!!!!

Do the values change based on time frame? If so what is the best suited for Intraday and which for Long term?

Sorry if this has been discussed and answered before!

Thanks,

Yes, you are quite correct in thinking that values change on change on time frames.

The settings are SMA 4,5 with BB at 9,2 for intraday on 15 mins chart.

For EOD charts we use SMA 5,6. These are the ones used for swing/positional/long term trading.

for intraday the settings are sma 4 & sma 5 crossover with BB 9,2. So we will have smas 4, 5 & 9 to guide us.

for positional trades the settings are sma 5 & sma 6 crossover with BB 9,2.

hope this clears you doubt.

cheers.

Prasad,

Weekly Chart Has Shown A Breakout By Piercing Upper BB & Followed By A Red Meaning Trend Is Intact....With Some Retracement.

For People Trading On Intraday Or For Hold Of 1 To 4 Days It Gives Them An Opportunity To Go Short On BB Piercing, But Then That Is A View Good Only For A Few Days.
