I am new to TraderJi and can not express my appreciation and gratitude in words to People ( Savant, Saint, Doc, Prasad... and the list goes on). :thumb:

I have read this thread from start to end and would start observing NF for the learnt indicators. To start with, I plan to do paper trades. Looking forward to more learning through this thread. :)

Thanks & Regards,
Sameer

Arvind,

As you are learning from scratch. I would suggest to look out for a thread called "Teach a man to fish" by Saint Sir. It would give you complete low down on how things work. I am not sure about the link, so you might need to find that.

Coming to your specific questions here. See,

Bullish: When we think prices will go up it is bullish.

Bearish: When we think prices will go down it is bearish.

Whipsaw: When we think prices will go up but it actually goes down or vice versa. It normally happens when decisions are taken in haste or on incomplete info.

Vicky,

Ok, Let me put in this way,

In 20 50 MA, crossover is nothing but, when 20MA croses the 50MA right?

When its in the Upperside, its buy signal and when its on the lower side, its sell signal.

Is that Bullish crossover and Bearish crossover something different?

Like savant usually says, Since we are following a system, We cant go by our thought,

When we get a buy signal, is it bullish? and when we get a sell signal, is it bearish? is that what you are trying to tell? i did not get this? Please clarify Vicky?
Whipsaw: When we think prices will go up but it actually goes down or vice versa. It normally happens when decisions are taken in haste or on incomplete info.
How can we avoid this, do we have to wait for sometime, after getting the signal, or do we have to look at anyother criteria? (to avoid taking decisions in haste or on incomplete info )

Am little confused Vicky? :)

Please correct me if am assuming wrong.

Regards,
Arvind

Hi Arvind,

Correct In Terms Of 20 & 50 Crossover

If It Is Upside It Means BULLISH & Downside Means BEARISH,

Whipsaw Is When It Gives Bullish Crossover & Soon After Dips To 50 DMA Thus Bearish, This Frequent Alternating Is Called Whipsaw.

Just As In Driving Or Riding, We Look To The Left Before Taking A Right Turn, Same Is True Of Individual Stocks Too, Which Means We Should Confirm Whether The Overall Market Is In Uptrend Or Not.

Will Post Later About 5 & 6 Crossover & BB
