Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

Hi zerodha,

I have one doubt.

For ex:
I have 2 Lakhs inmy account.
1. If i place nifty future @ 6000 long cover order for 3 lots with 50 pts sl.

After some time it went 5980. can i place one more Long cover order @ 5980 with 3 lots again with 50 pts sl.

i will exit 2 orders after both make in profit.

hope u understand my scenario.

Can zerodha or anyone plz explain.

Why not, place any many as you like, so long as you have sufficient margin. 1 lot nifty cover order, required margin is less than 8000.

i) Cover Order 3 lots margin used about 8000x3 24000 balance 1,76,000
ii) Cover order 3 lots Margin used about 8000x3 24000 balance 1,52,000

If we have chance to place multiple cover orders.. we can exit all our calls like partially. ( in cover order its not possible to exit partial). so.. we can place more than 1 cover orders. thanks..

zerodha is im right??

3 lots in CO require around 24k, so yes u can place it once at 6000 with 3 lots and again at 5980 for another 3 lots, u can actually buy upto 25lots in 2lks..

We did have a validation error last night for the open position report which was fixed today morning.. This is why you may have seen wrong figures..
The reports are in order today as they usually are. The error occurs only on the day i take a trade. Lets hope the problem is fixed for good. regards

_We will be changing the blogpost because now we settle with exchanges on T+0, have u checked our tool which shows the exact margin requirements : http://zerodha.com/margin-calculator/Futures/

This shows how much required for cover orders also..
hello zerodha,
the link of margin calculator does not have cover order margin under commodities.
Don't u provide cover order in commodities?
if no any specific reason for that ??
