Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

I am pretty sure if you already have 3.10.57.97.7, it does not need re-installation. The fact that the broadcast was working and only the user information and trades were not available means it's a connection goof-up at their end.

Client cash credit User ID column showed "Static" instead of the usual "N-A".

The point is, if there was an internet glitch at my end, I wouldn't be able to see the prices on NEST updating either; not to mention the other trading app was working fine.
i am also sure that my connection was fine so issue can be either in nest trader or their feed, so will try to reinstall first then if it happens again call them at that moment only, lemme also know if you find some solution.

I'd assume there are 2 different networks. One which brings the prices to your screen. This need not be "routed" through the Zerodha network.

And the other, which necessarily needs to be routed through Zerodha because it contains your user information and the trades executed by Zerodha clients. I am guessing it was this network that messed up this time albeit momentarily.

P.S. Make sure the re-installation does not create a NEW set of problems.

Yes i also face this problem so many time. One of my friend sell the stock but there is no record in order book and trade book. finely he has to call zerodha then its appears in trade book. now days ZT has so many problems. Zerodha is suppose to lunch new software in 2014 jan but no response...
OMG this is still happening? I faced the same problem in November at which time Zerodha had said its probably a one off occurrence. But the increasing number of glitches in Zerodha Trader recently will now surely force to rethink if its safe to continue with ZT. This is not good. Who knows what issue will crop up tomorrow, may be ruining a few trader's life in the process?

My experience with NEST TRADER(not ZERODHA's) as dealer is very satisfactory and can vouch for its reliability and performance. But there do exist some annoying niggles with the present version which is not yet upgraded for a long time. Order placement/modification, basic charting, client positions, work perfectly as far as my experience goes. Only time it hangs/crashes occassionaly is when I try to add a new scrip to the Market Watch. It also consumes a lot of RAM, needless to say you need to have a stable and a reasonably good Interet connection.

Here is quote from this link and hope Zerodha team really walks the talk

"Future Plans

The plan is by April 2014 be the best brokerage in terms of website, trading platform, backoffice, support and tools in India, a technology edge to all our clients."

Since Zerodha is focussed on providing the best in terms of technology for a trader/investor, here are some of my wishes and expectations as their client

Provide a trading platform for LINUX users.(My laptop is running ARCH LINUX).

BACK OFFICE which can be accessed on any browser.

MOBILE TRADING APP for Java based phones and Windows 8 not just Android/IOS (My other broker provides his app on all platforms)
