So you are talking about the features of a charting application.

What i m trying to say that it is very hard to find a charting application to even draw basic trend lines and other lines tools for the indian markets.

Ami is worst charting app for price action traders, its good for mechanical system traders who prefer to trade on buy/sell signals. So only alternative left is esignal, because they provide data for indian markets. if you try to use the line tools , you can see how messed up Amibroker.

I currently use esignal and i only use line tools with it . I do not use any other feature(EFS programming ,back testing..etc). I do use replay feature, but that should be a part of any TA software. Esignal has made it very easy to use line tools and trust me i have used/tested every possible TA software out there before settling with esignal. Only issue is the price. But there is simply no alternative in the current market.

I also tried using charts in NEST trader, but its a joke.

Do you know any decent charting application that is easy to use for price action traders with reliable data feed?
Amibroker seems to be very nice for charting for PA. I dont miss anything in it (Although it has much more that i need). Its incredibly flexible due to AFL and is quite light.

It remembers drawing. Switching between timeframes is super easy. Drawing is simple. I can even customize volume shown ( say show no of lots instead of big big number)
We have free tool to push data from ZT to amibroker using Excel's RTD ( This is a bit of manual work for backfilling if you miss- but not that much and you can buy feed if you prefer )

What exactly did you miss in it for charting? I didnt face any problem drawing a line

How to get mobile sms alerts. Is it already activated ? pls reply

When buying options and keeping it overnight does the average buy price changes daily????

Because yesterday i was in profit and now iam in loss ?

pls reply i have been msging u for a long time and u don't even have the courtesy to even reply to any of my messages :(

You didnt say what you didnt like, but anyway i am sure its good. I cant justify paying for feed anyway as i am poor learning trader :)
How much does it cost pm? It seemed to be atleast 1000+

Trading is hazardous as it is, last thing i need is more cost. Maybe in future if there is some reason.

I only need good enough charting and hopefully ZT next would be that and hopefully on Linux.

I could go on and on about the bad things about amibroker. No doubt its a cheap software in terms of pricing. But that doesn't mean it's any good.

I m talking about the user experience. I can write about it too , but until you experience using it , you will never know. Believe me i tried to force myself to use amibroker many times , but it simply didn't feel right.

A simple example of comparison b/n esignal and amibroker is the concept of pages. On each page you have any number of charts displayed. I watch about 65 instruments ( Currencies/Indexs/Commodities/NIFTY Stocks) and its so easy to move around and scan them in esignal. Try doing that in amiboker, it doesn't even have a concept of page. you have keep clicking to move around the charts. It's hard to view 50-60 instruments. so you end up struggling to find opportunities. Esignal makes that very easy for you and comfortable, even your grandma can use it, its that easy to use and then there is the data feed quality. No indian data provider can match it.

Anyways, we all know for whom the amibroker is marketed for. No serious professional trader uses it at-least as far as i know.

About the price. you pay for taxes/brokerage and so on..Its a business expense. Imagine you are running a business and you want to save money so you travel by say train/bus instead of plane. But in this business time = money. so you have to be willing to spend to make money. The time spent in traveling in a bus/train could cost you more....think about it.

Anyways, its all good. use whatever you are comfortable with.....have a good weekend!!!

edit: also if people cannot afford it , that means they do not have a sufficient a/c size to make any kind of money. Making pennies will kill you in this business.
