I am sure that there will be weekly payouts, but no bumper prizes, maybe never a winner of 1 lakh Rs. There will be many winners of Rs. 1000-2000 etc. who cast their prediction on the last or the penultimate day. Surely Zerodha has set aside a budget for this scheme which they won't spending 100%.

Their purpose behind this scheme is advertisement, greater participation; as well as continued user interest. I think that providing a larger range for the early birds could ensure greater interest. Also, it will make the contest look like something more than just a lottery.

Hey, btw, how about 1000 "early bird" prizes of Rs. 100 each for those who cast their prediction on Saturday/Sunday etc :D

Not much bandwidth wasted on it though, much less than the price of a lottery ticket :)
Zerodha has made a profit of Rs 10 Crores last year. So, 52 Lakhs is peanuts to them. :D

Hi Zerodha,
I opened a/c just 2 days ago. No trade till now. But my net got disconnected and when I want to login agian in ZT nest3, it is not logging in with a message 'disconnected form nest system. I tried to uninstall and reinstall again but not able to move past the message. If the solution is listed here, kindly let me know.

Mishra
I was amazed when I got a call from Zerodha and advised how to rectify the error. A big thanks to the team. BTW as advised, I did install 2 versions in diff. drive and so as advised, uninstalled both versions, deleted both the folders under program files, installed fresh and the issue was gone. Latest version has a reconcile button under user setting to avoid simillar problem in day to day life.

I dont think so.....its big amount (52 L)..even they earn 100 Cr....Zerodha has big heart.:)
It is just not about big heart, we have two objectives:

1. Retail participation just doesn't seem to be picking up, we are hoping that if there is gamification, which also introduces new people to the market, the active online retail trading community in India is probably just around 5lks, we all need this to grow..

2. As Nithin keeps quoting Larry Hite ---

I have two basic rules about winning in trading as well as in life:

1. If you don’t bet, you can’t win.
2. If you lose all your chips, you can’t bet.

So yeah, we keep taking bets with so many initiatives, have lost track of all of it now.. :) hoping that one of the bets hits... But even if it misses, it doesn't hurt the business...

For more retail participation, we need good education, also need some how to remove socially bad tag on Trading in share market.

Lets think about online training....I hope need less budget than 52 L.
