Ravi,

I guess we had tried to reason out on why we squared off your position at 2.50 and not 3.20pm. You had written deep in the money call option and you were using the premium received to write even more.
Now, this is a big red flag (sometimes, we traders take brokers for a ride as well).. As a client, i would have been really worried if Zerodha din't do what they did (squaring off before the stipulated cut-off time) ... well done, Zerodha. Nice gesture on free trades as well (and you are quick in modifying the RMS doc..good stuff)

Now, eagerly waiting to hear from Ravi1952 on the kind of leverage he took on this particular day and the thought process behind it.

Assuming you are using you are using 100% of margin(4lks) and your account balance is 5lks out of which 1lk is premium and 4lks is your capital.

We would start squaring off when your account balance comes to 3lks,

Usually there is no problem in normal cases, it usually is when people write deep in the money option.

Nifty 5000 call has a spread of 40 points and trades at 800, there is no logical sense to trade this when you get the same effect by trading futures.Usually these are what cause us red flag, because mostly people writing these are looking at using the premium received to write more..

On the contrary, we have people here who are whacking the Zerodha for saving them from further losses:D

Zerodha please continue with the good services in spite of the public whacking:clap:

Zerodha,

Which exchange's, MCX or NCDEX's, lot size has been used on your website's commodity calculator? Or the lot sizes of commodities on both the exchanges are same!

Thanks
