how to add scripts in market watch in new now 1.5
Hi, If you are not able to add scrips here is the way out...

1. Right click on now icon on your desktop

2. Click on properties

3. Click on Open File

4. You will see the following three files, nsescrips.nest, nfoscrips.nest, cdsscrips.nest.... Delete all the 3 files...

5. Go back to your desktop and double click on NOW... when you are logging in, click on confirm scrip download...

You should be able to work now...

Cheers...

If anyone facing freezing of marketwatch on the now 1.5 version, here is the fix...

1. If you login to our website after 12pm today, you will see a folder called new ini file... copy this file and place it on your desktop...

2. Right click on the NOW icon, click on properties, click on open file.....

3. copy the ini file on your desktop and paste it in this file...

4. you should be prompted for replace all... Say yes...

This should work...

Cheers...

Hi Sachin,

I opened my account last week and did my first trade today.
I have some questions regarding usage of exe version.

1)While squaring off positions, is it possible to specify limit value? When I click on Square Off button on net position window, the order is being executed at market price.
2)Today I have shorted one lot Mar 5200 PE at 63 and below are the margin figures from RMS limits screen.

Margin Used : 16558.18
Span Margin Present : 11640
Exp Margin Present : 8318.17

I am not able to understand these values.
As per my understanding,
Margin Used = Span Margin+ Exposure.

3)Suppose if the market goes down from here, at what NIFTY level my short trade will be squared off, if I dont provide any extra margin?
I am not able to see any trigger value.

4)In Admin Positions (net wise), it is showing that I shorted 2 lots of 5200PE, even though I actually shorted only one lot. But in Day wise its showing one lot correctly. Is it a bug in NOW application?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

1. Square offs can be done only at market price, if you want to exit with limit place a fresh order with opposite positions...

2. When you write options, the premium received is given as a credit... For option writing, the margin required to short varies by the strike you want to write...

3. When you write options, you can typically take a loss of around 70 to 90points in the premium without brining any extra margin for overnight positions...

4. Netwise will show you positions which you carried from overnight, whereas daywise will show you net positions which you have taken intraday... This is no bug...

Leave us your name and number on india@zerodha... someone will call and give you a demo...

Cheers....

thank you for detail reply. if i have 100 sbi at 2500 and i sell 20 on monday 20 on tuesday and so on will india bulls depository charge 15 for each day means 75 till friday or only 15 once all shares are sold? alsocan we use money made form futures in buying selling equity and thereby transfeing easily? also one more thing can we inform on phone not to square off and give money transfer detail as i have axis bank and neft or rtgs can take time and reaching 3.10 pm or square off is risky and if we fail to pay by evening or next day morning you can auction shares. finally if i get poa to deal on behalf of nri will i be able to save taxes above 50000 gains and reuse money easily?
Any dp in the country, if you sell shares every day dp charges will be charged everyday ...

Yes you can use money made by futures for equity and vice versa... this can be done seamlessly...

With axis bank we have a direct payment gateway, so instant fund transfer is possible.. .so you don't have to worry about it...

Even if you get POA, the account will belong to the NRI.. he will have to pay what he is due... you are just placing trades on his behalf...

Cheers...
