As I have said before it is not why we are so less, it is why others are so expensive :) .... We are doing business online and are catering to only online traders... We don't need offices in every city, if a client is online we can serve him online... most of our clients would agree that we are doing a decent job serving them... the power of the web is immense, this is just the beginning of things we are going to be introducing.... If you wanna speak more about it, leave a message on india@zerodha... Cheers...

@ zerodhaonline, Please clarify

1) Do you allow trading/investment in all NSE script? Some brokers do not allow trading/buy in illiquid/penny stocks?
2) If zerodha were to shut down shutter suddenly (pray it does not happen), what is the procedure for investors to recover their holdings?
3) U have mentioned 600 as the account opening charges, does it include the first years AMC?

1. All the scrips available on NSE is allowed to be traded on...

2. The rules that monitor an icicidirect is the same that governs us... All clients funds sit in what is called NSE client account... Even if we as a business are forced to close down, your cash will be sitting in the NSE accounts and they in turn give it back to clients..... NSE also has a an exchange guarantee fund...
3. Out of 600, 300 is account opening for trading and 300 for demat.. amc is extra...

Cheers...

And is the AMC charged at the end of each year...suppose I open demat and trading account this month, will the AMC for the 1st year be charged around Feb 2012 or will it be debited from the cash ledger immediately...
