On january 2011,sebi has given permission to trade in 24 world indices for indian traders.Subsquently nse and bse anounced that facility will be provided wthin a month. It has been reported in all leading newspapers.Any one having any info including zerodha post it here.

Zerodha is the only brokerage house in the world, which add MTM over bought options......:clapping::clapping:....:mad:......everbody knows you can not lose more than option premium......:(
Let you have 10 K in your account, you bot options worth 6K , now if total loss is 4K, they calculate 6k bot + 4k MTM = total 10 K, now you cant buy anything......everbody knows you cant lose more than 6k.......

Hats off to them....they made my day..............:mad:

and I doubt they add profits to margin, I mean over 10K if you made profits of 2k, your total margin should be 12k, that day itself.......
I think you should have called them and it would just taken few minutes to open up your limit, though i never faced any such problem with RELIGARE but if something like this happens i would expect them to solve it while i am on phone with them

If you found out about your problem at 3:25 pm then its simply bad luck but if you got to know about your margin issues at 2 in the after noon then where was the problem

something like this should not happen at any other broker but then zerodha , RK gloabal have to have tight margin rules and are not expected to loose 20 K for earning 20 rs per trade

Once with my older broker i entered 5 lots of IFCI fiutures throught spread trade option i did not know it was in ban period and the trade went through and penalty of RS 24000 was imposed on me by the exchange

I told my broker that it was there fault and trade should have not gone while it was in ban period and instead of me they paid the penalty
but with discount brokers one has to be more care full and when you call them they will solve your problem

so just for the sake of the readers please clarify that did u call them to solve this issue if not then i dont think there is a point loosing your :) temper

Reagrds mayank

I am also a satisfied customer of zerodha and NSE NOW superfast....:thumb:....but the blocking of margin cost me a very good trade on expiry day... thats why lost temper........:D..
I also lost temper when that happened to me. Firstly, I could not understand and placed the same order 4-5 times and then I manually calculated the money I have used and the money which should be left in my account. After that I could not figure out the reason and then i immediately called zerodha number and they reset it. Whenever you have any problem, it is better to call them or drop them an email rather than losing temper :). In this way, you will only lose couple of minute of trade rather than a complete day.

actually it was after 3 pm....last trade, when I was trying to buy large lots of 5400 CE @ 0.80 - 1.00 , when nifty was @ 5365... ....... ..it was there for a very brief period before shooting to Rs 11...... I had the feeling, expiry should be around 5410, which I posted in canteen thread at that time...http://www.traderji.com/equities/47979-canteen-165.html#post554318....Indeed I was correct but no gain..........I tried many times, with different quantities but no success,.... there was no time to call, options will not wait for my call......but if that happens again, I will call them even at 3.20 pm...

First time login is taking more than 20 mins. Is it normal
Do we have to put transaction password everytime we have to put an order? or is it once? or once in an hour or something like that?

Trying my friends account. On a very low config machine. Lets hope we can bust the myth that NOW is resourcce intensive

Generally on monday and 1st trading day after FnO settlements login is delayed as fresh updated scrips are being downloaded. If you are active FnO trader, you have to download scrips on start-up screen daily to get updated data which can take 30 seconds to 1 minute atleast. If you are trader in cash segment, just skip the scrips download by choosing "Confirm scrips Download" at start of login screen and once you login a fresh message will come asking segment you want to download, uncheck both Cash and Derivatives, carry on with service.

Password are needed just once. Put a freek order if you are buying or selling so next time password is not asked, if you are lucky freek order might get executed too! Or put orders during Pre-open is closed from 9.08.00 to 9.14.59, order will get cancelled by own.

Zerodha, whats update on NEWSWIRE? It ate 5 MB today each time I logged in showing 500+ messages. Already month end, bandwidth is finished and I'm on chargable units now. Every fresh login costs me 5 rupees. :(
