Re: How to trade only INTRADAY in Nifty Fut with Extra money in a/c?

Suppose, I have 2lakh [more money than required overnight position] in a/c but want to trade with only 2lot Nifty INTRADAY ONLY[want a compulsory square off after 3pm, i.e No Overnight Position].
How is it possible as for FNO, as you have only one option i.e. NORMAL.
For example:-
May be I have created a position in beginning of the day & now in big profit. I want to log out from my terminal for rest of the day [with a stop loss & target], But I don't want any overnight position. In case of sl & target don't meet want a compulsory square off after 3 pm.
How is is possible to create 'Only Intraday Position in F&O' with extra money in a/c ?

Right now we don't have a facility for you to take an intraday only position in F&O with more margin in your account as we have only one product type for F&O which is NRML. Considering the situation, it is best for you to square off your position on your own, or you can leave an order in the system for it to get executed at a preferred price. Having said that, we're in the process of creating an intraday only product type even for F&O and Currency.

@Zerodha,

I think we could have a solution for the software issue. It will require some efforts from your side though. Other members, please share your view to this.

A group of programmers have developed a nice EOD and Intraday software about a year and half ago. I had the pleasure of sharing it with you then (somewhere in mid 2010). At that time the software was only EOD version. Since then these guys have only bettered the software and now they are readying to have their real time version rolled out pretty soon.

Why am I telling you this?

when I inquired about the release date of the real time version of the software, they happened to mention that the beta testing has already begun with Interactive Brokers API and that their RT version will connect to data-feeds and brokers to get real-time data. A component can be implemented for every broker or data provider that has an API without any country barrier.

They are also developing a module for automated trading directly from the software.

Currently their beta real time version has the following features:

- Real time charting
- Real time watchlists
- Real time Alerts
- Alerts based on drawing tools
- Excel-like tool to create real time dashboard (very powerful)

So think for a moment .....

What if Zerodha provides these guys with RT data API which allows us to connect to Zerodha account through this software and trade?

It sounds like a distant dream but it sure is DOABLE. Please share your views.

For those of you who wants to test drive this software, here's the link:

Also I know that Quantshare representative is also present on this forum by user name 'Quantshare'. I sincerely hope that 'Quantshare' and 'Zerodha' should get in touch with each other and take the matter ahead.

We all know Zerodha revolutionised the brokerage industry with their Rs. 20 trades. Now they can take it a step forward by introducing a state-of-the-art software to execute these trades.

Just my 2 cents.

Pls Confirm

Cover Order is include 2 order, for example, if you want to buy NIFTY @ 4700 and you want sale as stop loss 4660, Its mean you want bear maximum 40 Pts loss, so you need for one lot 40*50= Rs 2000, but safety factor 2 time so its Rs 4000 margin for trade, the stop loss ordre is market order(its mean if 4660 triggered than it may be sold @4650 also) , and It can not be cancealed, but you can exit any time, its mean if NIFTY go up and trading @4730, and you want to trade, you can close your position with profit, or suppose NIFTY rate is 4690 , and you want to close your position, you can exit with 10 Pts loss.
Happy to hear ! Zerodha please confirm this officially that
if cover order is placed like above just Rs.4000-5000 be sufficient for one lot of big Nifty ?

I am interested just in the API

It beats me as to why the order time shows different on Odin and NOW. I hope some other members of the forum can shed some light on it.
We have sent the AM order out on time and the execution may have been delayed by a couple of seconds. You can rest assured that if there was a counter party for your order it would have been executed.
Yes , I realized that NOW streaming shows lag time (few seconds or more before)as compare to trading other softwares.

I don't know why streaming does not match.

However now a days I rarely/dont trade with Zerodha for only few Rs. difference per trade.

As we know we do not get any margin over the shares that we have in demat.

You have to inject lots of cash in trading account if you would like to trade with Zerodha.

I felt that its incomplete and does not solve my purpose at all at least.

Thank Gos

You trade with Zerodha or not, that's your decision. But we all love to trade with Zerodha. :clapping::rofl:

Zerodha - Problem with payin

Hello Zerodha

I had earlier this evening spoken to your office about this.

Since yesterday (Thursday), I am unable to deposit any money in my account using "Online Payin" option. The "Select Bank" dialog is blank. It should show the name of my bank to select. There seems to be some problem with the Atom technology.

We tried it on your computer too using Ammyy admin just to make sure that there was no problem at my end, but the problem persists.

Please look it up.

And yes, what's new in the new version ?
