Re: Please make Nest more user friendly.

Hi Zerodha
When you started this. I mean placing 3 orders ( 1 buy/sell order + 1 target order + 1 stoploss order) under single margin, because I remember I got a reply from your customer care (some 4-5 weeks back) against my similar query as, "this is treated as 2 lots and so double margin".
You can't place 3 pending orders(Entry+SL+Target). You need to buy or sell first, after that you can place Target and SL without any extra margin.

I am trading with this manual bracket orders from January onwards. I have opened my account in January itself. So, from the first day of trading with Zerodha, I am placing manual bracket orders without any extra margin.

@ Zerodha,

Can we transfer shares from our Demat to another persons Demat?

I mean, as we transfer funds from our bank accounts, do NEFT etc from one bank a/c to another, say to my friends a/c. Is it possible to transfer/gift shares the same way from our Demat to friends Demat a/c seamlessly?

If yes, then what is the procedure?

If we can't place 3 pending orders(Entry+SL+Target) with single margin, it'll not help much. In that case, this is not like "manual bracket orders" bcoz we can place 3 pending orders with bracket order without dual margin blocking.
Waiting for bracket order facility from NSE. :p

Hi Sumo,

Yes we have gotten it activated for our clients taking equity and futures positions..

For options, it won't work though..

You get a margin benefit from the exchange even for placing orders.. Presently we don't have a tool that tells you how much, but we will have it out soon..

A lot of such benefits exchange gives, which a lot of brokers don't really pass it on.. Our tool, will show the exact margin benefits you will get..

But yes, no extra margin will be blocked if you place both the Selling and Stop loss for a position you hold.. You could try it out.. :) ..
What other benefits does the exchange give ??

Can anyone please explain what is scrip margin in simple words ? Please post an example...

I find this in Zerodha's Contract Notes ...I don't understand this .

Zerodha , Can you please explain this ?
Scrip margin is shown in your Margin Statement against scrips held by you in your demat account after applying VaR Margins. The Margin Statement is as per NSE format. However to start trading using scrip margin, you will have to pledge the stocks- ie move them from your demat account to our beneficiary account.

Yes you can, dp instruction booklet is similar to cheque book, mention the other party where you want to transfer and submit it to your DP..
