Sorry To know that you are in a loss with your Hindalco holdings. Its a good company so you might be able to recover within some time.

As far as dividend is concerned ,if it is announced by a company then with my own experience I am telling you that you will get it within one month's time.

I got it directly transferred to my Bank A/C through Electronic Clearing System [ECS] . Otherwise a cheque is issued in the name of the shareholder.

Hi Soft_trader,

You are right, manual rollover can be cumbersome and inaccurate since we have to leg in. But there is a way out(in fact three ways):

1) Use spread/2L order to rollover positions (It is available under the ?"Orders and Trades" menu at the top). With that you buy and sell the near and far month simultaneously without fear of slippage. Advantage: This is the safest option to go for if you hate slippage and market gaps.

2) Using the same window as above, use 2L orders. This is useful for different instruments e.g. spread between futures and options.

3) Use basket order. Press Ctrl+B, dont worry its will not make the scrip bold :D, it opens up the basket order dialog where you can put both order and that will get executed. Advantage: This can be used when you want to roll over more than 1 stock/index at same time. Eg. you want to roll over both reliance and nifty futures, then create a basket of 4 orders(just an example): Sell near month Nifty, buy next month nifty, sell near month reliance, buy next month reliance at market price. :)

Hope this helps.

Zerodha,

How to do a rollover? is is selling the current month and buying the next month, or there are other separate procedure?
