REPOSTING

Dear Zerodha,

If some one withdraw all the money from account (Zero Balance) , and he/she has Demat account running with no holding, than how you recover the annual charges for Demat account ? What is the NSDL guidelines ?

I have trading and Demat account with another broker, which I have closed 2 years back, but now I received AMC Bills, they told me that they close trading account and Demat account still open. Please reply, what they will do if I will not pay them. Thanks
Nothing much the DP can do, he will probably keep sending you bills.. :)

Thanks for the reply.
I want to check the net amount.
The net balance is the amount mentioned in the column "ExpMarginPresent" or the "ExpMarginPresent" + the amount mentioned in column "unrealised MTM present"
Net balance = Cash margin available - Margin used + payin amount

This column is not available by default, to set this right click on a column and say create custom column, give it the name and then set this formula,

If you are finding it tough, ping me your client id, will call you back and help you out..

DP transaction charges is paid by us and there is nothing you have to do about it. We have already raised this issue, unfortunately they work at the speed of how a lot of big corporate do in India. New bills should be sent to you by this weekend with the dp transaction charges showing paid..

The AMC presently have to be paid by you directly to ILFS. We will see what can be done about it and let you all know by end of this week...
Go to this website to pay your AMC charges by net banking or Credit card

https://www.ilfsdp.com/eko-pay.asp

Select DP ID IN300095 after that type your client ID. you will get the same amount as billed. Pay using net banking or credit card. Happy trading

thank you.

The issue was not about the methods to make payment. It was about what to pay, when to pay and what not to pay. Who shall pay - Zerodha or us [conflict was about what zerodha earlier said and their stance now]. what about penalty.

thanks anyway, i did end up paying online my AMC charge with penalty.

Even i face the problem, I do not have any holding in ILFS and they charged me 700 odd ruppees. zerodha had collected 350 when opening, had specifcally i do not need demat as i do not take positions. just intraday. i think i need to close the demat with ILFS after clearing this due..

i never received any bills for maintainece, do not understand what maintainece they do when there is not holding in the demat for 3 years..

Thanks
Alok

There are two types of charges every DP charges. One is transaction charges which is based on the shares you transfer out of this DP. As there are no transactions , these charges have to be NIL.

Second charge is AMC or Annual Maintenance Charges which are annual charges for maintaining your folio in the DP. This is irrespective of any transactions in the account.

Find out from Zerodha which charges they are going to bear and which the client has to bear. Zerodha probably will bear AMC for 1 year if they have collected these charges at the time of opening the account.

If I am correct, Zerodha collects six month AMC in advance if you want to open the demat account with them. They had taken that amount from me, if I remember correctly. I do not know if they have changed the rules now.

After that six months if you don't pay your AMC amount in advance for the next six month, then the unethical ILFS starts charging 2% penalty on the due amount from the first month of the next six month. Please see my attached bills of Jan-March period and August to know what I'm saying.

My Zerodha account had became operational in mid-August 2011, and demat in September, and I got AMC bill for the period of Jan-March with 30th April as the due date! Which I ignored due to the wrong AMC information Zerodha had gave me before the opening of account.

But thanks to the forum when I came to know about this AMC issue, I found that my bills are due and in Aug's bill they have added 2% penalties interest on the April due date amount!

**Charge penalty, no problem. But why from the first due date? Why this hurry to get the AMC in advance? There are still six month left, wait till the end of six months to see if the client pays or not. If it does not, then charge whatever penalty you wish to. Or better still, take full year's AMC in advance or in year's end - and give us mukhti from this jhanjhat. Life is so busy that people mind remains busy with one thing or other you know..that move will only help..

You should not have paid it.... This does not solve your problem ....system is still buggy and lack of transparency.....you should have wait till ILFS send a revised bill by this weekend.

I once did the same thing just like you ...paid online long ago when I first opened demat...see that did not solve the problem....they need to turn off the bugs in the system. This is a kind of unethical malpractice ILFS doing.

see Punter's post how they are doing business ...

I am hopeful Zerodha will figure out a solution for this AMC mess and help us to focus on happy trading

you've summed it up very nicely. This tiny little jhanjhat which is very much solvable by Zerodha.

All they have to to is to go and talk to ILFS.

Zerodha is not an small broker now...so they can afford to be aggressive to get things done. EOD, Zerodha started with the aim to remove "rodha" from trader's mind - in terms of cost and unnecessary hassles.

hoping for a early resolution on this matter.

Zerodha,

If I do a CNC BUY an Equity ...Can I sell it on the same day ? Is there any problem / charges / auction etc ? When this trade will be settled ?

I'm asking because suppose if my target price is achieved on the same day of CNC buy itself ...and I may not wish to hold it...want to sell ...is it possible ?

How do you sell to exit ? will that be a CNC SELL or MIS SELL ?
