Yesterday I attended a spritual session at one of my friends house and this is what Guruji said
He says flee away your desire .... Get rid off your desire ... I asked how and he gave the same universal answer -- through Meditation and Satsang--.
I asked but why I shall supress my desire to which he said because `Desire Leads to Destruction` .. I asked but is it really true and he said GEETA says so.

I however hold a different view and believe that we have misinterpreted the divine words and have define it in our own way.
Why should one supress his/her desire. It is the Desire that has led to so much development in this world. Everything we see around was someones desire. Someone desire to fly and invented Airplane .. Someone desire to eradicate disease from the earth and invented Vaccines. Whatmore we ourself are result of desire .. desire of our parents.

Desire gives us hope ..desire gives us invincible energy .. Desire gives purpose to our life .. without any desire life is meaningless .. Desire is one element of existence .. without desire heart will just be a mechanical pumping machine and nothing else.
Lord Krishna itself was full of desire .. Radha was one of his desire.

Balram once asked Krishna did you kill Kansa beacuse of his desire to live forever. Krishna said no the path he chose to live eternally was not appropriate...Lord Krishna said desire is not right or wrong for which one is punished .. it is the path one choose to fulfill that desire is right or wrong.
He said the same for Duryodhna .. He said Duryodhna desire to be a King was not wrong .. the path he chose to enthrone himself was wrong.

You dont need to supress your desire .. just need to manage them.. manage them in a way that you always tread on the right path to fulfill them.
There is a very thin line between desire and greed and it is greed that leads to destruction... Now desire to have extra woman in your bed is nothing but pure greed ..
So keep your desire alive ...but free yourself from the greed.

Thanks

Komal.... you should NOT Chit-Chat in wrong thread :D

This is what my comment about what Guruji said. But before that, remember, that each one of us interpretes various incidences based on one's own intentiions and likings.

There is a say in English Language "Nothing suceeds like Sucess"

The catch is in the word "Success" and how one interpretes it.

The two brothers of the leading Indian Group got separated. Each one has improvised in his holdings to finally get recognised as a wealthy person in Fotune 500.

Are they NOT successful...? And if they are, why are they fighting for each other's blood... if the newspaper reports are to be
accepted?

So.... one needs to find another meanings of the word "Success"

One could be "Being Satisfied"

So.... if one could be satisfied, one could be cosidered successful, because nothing in the world could lure or attract him. Are the two brothers satisfied? Hell NO! So, with this definition, they are NOT successful.

And is this success an easy one to attain...? Try... just try.

May be, that's what the Guruji was trying to tell, but could be in a different language.

Cheers!

This desire thing always remind me of one thing .. ' freedom ' ..quoting from my all time fev. book ' The Fountainhead'
"I take the only desire one can really permit oneself. Freedom, Alvah, freedom."
"You call that freedom?"
"To ask nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing."

just going through the pages....

"Argument, Mrs. Gillespie," he said, "is one of the things that has neither use nor charm. Leave it to the men of brains. Brains, of course, are a dangerous confession of weakness. It has been said that men develop brains when they have failed in everything else."

this is the answer perhaps why best threads of TJ gone to abrupt end.
