ED is Ending diagonal pattern in Elliot wave theory.

It is usually formed during reversal and when this pattern is rightly found then there will always be a sharp reversal to retrace this whole pattern.

ED is part of diagonal pattern. There are two types of diagonal pattens in Elliot wave theory.
1. Leading Diagonal Pattern
2.Ending diagonal pattern.
And Ending diagonal pattern itself has 2 varities. Type i. Contracting. Type ii, Expanding. The nifty chart I have posted here shows the contracting type. and expanding type can be seen in my wipro analysis

Surprisingly S&P 500 has been developing Ending diagonal pattern in daily chart. So far the ED formation in S&P 500 is not yet invalidated. Pattern is very much in control and it is in the process of forming the final wave 5 which started yesterday. If this is going to be a ED pattern in S&P 500 then we will witness CRASH in Index soon. Because the pattern started @ 1810.1 and currently we are in 2130 zone.Once it comes to 2190-2230 there might come a bad news to shake the index and create the panic among the crowd.currently it is covering approximately 400 points from 2190-1810 in S&P. So far the whole pattern has taken about 267days and still counting. Once it is complete this 400 points will be just erased and Index will be back to 1810 in very short span of time. This is just my view at the moment. we just have to wait for few more days to see how index is reacting. Since election is just around the corner, no possibility could be avoided. It could also go sharply upside by invalidating the pattern or it could just prove me right that there is going to be a crash, who knows. We will have the answer soon!

The below chart is simple example of ED pattern formation in Nifty 1 min chart. The wedge lines marked is called Enging Diagonal pattern. This pattern formed when i posted my post that Nifty might reverse for 50 points from 8498

And you can also check my Wipro analysis. There was ED pattern formation and it fell sharply. Link is in my signature

@ST Sir
Are you able to recall a post you made about an Author launching third book in his volume.
The second one was supposed to be really good. The post could have been from August month I'm unable to recall his name and Post results are limited to 500 and on search I've got no keyword.
Author should be a good trader of the 80's.

Thanks.

Trust this helps. It is a 1 min old chart of BNF...the dark magenta line is a TDST Resistance and the faint magenta lines at bottom are TDST support lines which are held by the market in the uptrend.

Look here:
http://www.traderji.com/technical-analysis/23286-thomas-demark-sequential-system.html
This is Tom de mark's system thread, of which TDST is a component.
There is the AFL also,
http://www.traderji.com/day-trading/72827-thoughts-day-swing-trading-part-2-a-17.html
and one chart example by ST sir.
However most charts in that thread are invisible now, but ST sir's simplified explanation of a difficult De mark's languages is everywhere.
Also you can go through a book by Jasen perl on DeMark indicators from here:

Happy trading
