I am surprised. I think AMO is for cash stocks only. Not for futures. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have been using AMO in cash stocks for more than 4 years now. But in futures, it never accepted the order, at least till a few years back. Since then never tried. Do confirm please
I have used only couple of times and it does work

Thats not a problem. Thats normal. The exchange allows release of AMO orders after the rst few minutes only. Sometimes it takes as much as 10 to 12 minutes for the orders to go live. And in that period, you CANNOT cancel or modify the order...
If that is the case whats the use of AMO order. If we want to buy/sell at certain price and we might miss that price in the first few minutes, its not fair right?

That is the main problem, Vijay. All the main menu is eaten up by the BIG GUYS from 9:00 to 9:15 and the rest of the day we need to trade on the leftovers. There should be some way to avoid this.

You could go in for server co location and DMA ( Direct Market Access )

Co location will ensure that you will get quotes at least 1 second before the others. Also, you can even set up your trading system on the co located server, thereby automating your strategy.

That way you can avoid it.

Thanks for the info Sumosanammain. But all this will cost a lot of money, right so let me first make some bucks in the routine process, then will shift to the above process.

Can you let us know what is the process and the cost for that. If you have any links, that will suffice.

Thanks

Good day again. Before the market opened, I was thinking today my long position will hit badly as the global clues were not good. But our market stood firm and showed some strength. If everything in the world is good, we can see market zooming up tomorrow.

Carrying the long postion for tomorrow with SL below 5519.20

Good luck for tomorrow.
