Hello
I did some back testing with all the 3 scenarios on higher time frame of 5/15/60 minutes . . . .
Most of the outcome is positive . . . .
Just to share few things . . .
I back tested BNF from Jan 2014 to 3/3/17 (some rough code + manual)
run scenario 1 + 2 on 5 minutes chart
.i.e for longs 1) 200 ema both price & OBV UP & 2) BO Ribbons for price and OBV blue
no sequence or combination simply go long when all 4 ducks line up
Similarly for short all 4 ducks line up on the red side . . .
2017 score was about 1800-1900 points . . .
2016 score was about 6200/300 points . . .
2015 score was about 8000/500 points . . . this was the best year
2014 score was about 3900-4000 points . . . relatively bad
about 18K points in 34 months avg say 500 points/month . . .
All this without any optimization and
cost for each trade was 10 points per trade i.e. 5 points per side
which actually does not account for any slippages,
no forwardization/backwardization cost are considered (i.e. no undh/sidha Badla
Scenario 3 or the same period on same TF was aprox 14.5 K Points . . .
Mixing 1+2+3 broke the system . . .the gains went down drastically . . . .
independently all 3 can be traded and form my very crude tests 1+ 2 gave best results . . .
But what Varun has been telling us all along the best performance seems to come from his favorite 1 minute charts
Have not tested this TF yet, just observed BNF on it for 2 days
Hope this encourages people to do their own tests (can use bar replay in AB) and arrive at their own conclusions.
Happy
