Jamit, on Aug 19th FII's had shorted 56K contracts of Index future much higher than today's 50K and the next day Index closed in the positive.. but the very next day it blew apart :)
My excel sheet is showing that FII shorted 45K on 19th, whereas on 3rd sept, yest, they shorted a massive 68K (but increased OI by only 33K).

I take data from the NSE website and I am sure you do the same. I guess the difference is in how we process it.

NF reached a 100 points from LOD, this is not strong bear. Holding short entry at SL of 5475.60; exactly 52.80 points.

Long above 5580.95;
That was too close for comfort. Missed the SL by a whisker.

Such strong moves on both sides is likely to continue till:

1) Bulls get a shot at 5800. Hence, getting them out of the system.
2) Price consolidates till Sept expiry.
3) Due to some major news, 5100 is broken convincingly.

Spot opened above 3rd Sept high and withing the hour started to trade below it. This is a setup for shorts. As soon as this setup fails, I will be out with my shorts.

This will give me a handsome loss of 3R, where I started off with only a loss of 1R in mind.

But, this is not disconcerting. When I take trades with the potential to give 5 to 10R, then an occasional negative surprise should at max be unpleasant. If the mind thinks of writing off the system or looks for other avenues then clearly it is not ready for Futures Trading.

Lets see how the mind reacts along the day... this is make or break time :)

Long at 5623.85 Spot. SL 60 points. This will work as SAR.

It was a big gap against the shorts. Although, the loss would exceed the risk multiple (by a few times) it seemed best to resort to a logical SAR as opposed to exiting at CMP.

The only objective of this fresh Long position would be to clear the Big Loss of today. Hence, I will exit as soon as +4R is reached.

Jamit, today all the Index Future shorts have been unwound by FII. This should be uncovered with what you are tracking too.. but this means they start afresh tomorrow...
Yes, absolutely. And its logical as the Spot touched the golden ratio at 5605. Hence, a bounce off it is on the cards.

I will add to shorts below yesterday's low.

While one is open, another short at Spot 5524.10 SL 45 points.

If this short substantiates, then it would mean two things:

1) Bounce off of the the Golden ratio
2) Second failure of a Pivot High break.

Both are potent setups. And all I want is 5R. To shut shop for the month.
