I am also facing the same problem. Last week the new version didn't work.
It's been working nicely since y/day. But takes a lot of time to start.
Don't know what's the problem.

Hi Logan..
I ran the chartsdata this morning.. and it has not been running throughout the day. When I run the program.. it indicates "auto backfill is on".. Subsequently, it gives an runtime error message /abnormal program termination indicating the file chartsdata.exe
I uninstalled/reboot.. reinstalled/reboot.. However no use..

Please suggest.

Hi Logan..

As a problem u can still track/crack the same. After some experiments/files check, I deleted the autobk file from chartsdata folder as I suspected that it might be triggering auto backfill. and it worked for me..Next time I did not accept the pop-up option of auto-back fill and touchwood, it is working now..

dear sir

from last 3 days i got problem in updating 5 min 5day back filling.only backfill old data but real time data is not updating,i am using metastock in 1 min 1 day data is not sufficint for metastock,is gives so much erroes pls rectify this problem,ur old evaluation vertion is good, but charts data cannot be used for metastock from ur trial vertion,5 min dadta is shows only just like ieod type ,pls advise, this problem any one facing??

Dear e10806,

This might happen due to corrupted or incorrect registration of dll/ocx files, go to installation directory and open Click2Reg.bat file to register. If you face the same problem, find chartsdata help file ChartsData.chm in the installation directory and go thu Error and Solutions on manual registration of dll/ocx files.

Please download the new trial version and install, then check for backfilling process as few got this problem and resolved with the new trial version.

Dear Ritesh,

Just go to installation directory and find Click2Reg.bat file. Open/Run the file to register required dll/ocx files. If error occurs then find ChartsData.chm to know how to register files manually.

Dear Linkon,

If you have enabled Auto-Backfill while closing ChartsData last time, then it will take few minutes to process the backfill while starting ChartsData. Ensure to press - NO if you don't want to backfill on your next start else internal process will happen to backfill on your next start.

Mine is taking a lot of time to start... I checked with a friend and his is working fine. Dont know if anyone else is facing the same problem....
