i installed new version in my vista OS , but facing this problem System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770) , i resolved all the redfile problems from ur post regarding this and checked in my C ..all reg. files are available ..but still m facing this problem ..please help me ..

I installed the new one . well, the CD runs. but whan i tries to select yahoo as my data nothing happens. i am unable to do anything. whats wrong???

Dear Balraj,

Yes, as per amibroker configuration both intraday and EOD data will be placed in the same directory and whenever chartsdata was initiated with realtime data along with backfill process, both the intraday and EOD data will be placed in to the same directory. But by choosing different time frequencies you can see both EOD and Intraday at the same time.

If you just want EOD data, choose "daily view" in the chart area by right clicking it and you won't find any data discrepancies further.

Thanks for the reply but more Question are there hope you will clrear my doudts.

At present for EOD i am using GETBHAVCOPY which provided by Hemen kapadia, after downloding CD i want use CD only of Intraday data and for EOD GETBHAVCOPY, so i do not want to mix these data like last time happend.

what would be your suggestion shell i use only CD at present for EOD also but then again i have dawnlod all historical EOD data.

Dear Ashish,

Please find below the steps to work with Metastock
1. Install Metastock as usual but open it in offline mode. This is important, open metastock before running chartsdata.
2. Start chartsdata and choose ODIN/YAH00. Once you see the scripts loaded in the chartsdata, all other sections will be enabled at once.
3. Choose Metastock and click UPDATE button. Go to Metastock, open preferred scrips and view it updating every 5 seconds.
4. To backfill scripts, choose CASH or FnO option and go ahead by choosing intraday/cash eod/FnO eod/bhavcopy options, and click START to update charts with Backfill datas.

NSE, BSE and NSE F&O BHAVCOPY - will be saved for the selected date at location C:\ChartsData\Bhavcopy folder.

Let me know if you feel struggled at any stage.

The very fact that there are so many questions is a pointer that people are finding it useful - which was your basic, and laudable, intention! I wish you all success.
I couple of my queries [elementary only I'm afraid]: I have downloaded and installed the software, and when I open my commodities ODIN, Charts data immediately loads the market watch - so far so good. When I look into the MSData directory I find the minute to minute updating is taking place. The problem is in Metastock, where I am unable to view the charts. On going thru the queries in this thread I found your above solution on which pl clarify what do mean "open in OFFLINE mode"? I find no option or button in MS to select this mode. Could there any other problem apart from this - pl clarify. The TA software is MS 10 [the EOD, not RT]. Looking forward to your reply, and best regards.

Thanks. Techdump.. It is working fine for me for last couple of days.. Mainly taking Nifty RT.. and backfill only if I miss soem period of the day..

Not sure if your problem has been resolved. I faced the same problem earlier and I had put up the same on this forum.
Check my post (couple of msg earlier). It has method which I followed. deleted autobk file.. and it worked. Next time when I closed the system, I did not enabled autobackfill.. as I did not need autobackfill. and it is working fine so far..

Yes, i didn't saw your queries that have been listed in the below mentioned post. Let me clarify this.

1. Yes, as said before ChartsData depends mainly on clipboard functionalities to update charts realtime, this might be a hurdle but without this i can't do a lot of background functionalities.
2. If your metastock update frequency is from 5sec to 20sec/30sec and do a lot of chart processing then you might receive mswin error while updating. This normally happens and will try to resolve it soon as few other members too are facing this issue.
3. No. untill now chartsdata creates only 1min data in the background from realtime data. But will include this option later in upcoming versions.

" I know it is not your software's problem but when I try to draw trendline or fibonacci line if your software updates metastock in that time then metastock throwing error and closing.I came to know few data providers managed to update metastock without blinking(for this we should intall metastock in signal broadcast mode instead of esignal) so that metastock updation will not disturb drawing of trendline,fibonacci or any other interaction with metastock.

One more request is if it is possible then give us option to create custom interval (atleast 5 minute) chart presently we could get only one minute interval chart (metastock can handle only upto 65000 ticks)"

Dear Ankit,

This error can be raised even with invalid registry entries or incorrect dll/ocx registration. If you are sure that the dll and ocx files are correctly registerd then you can clear you registry for invalid links/references. You can use aatools (google to find the download link) to clear registry if you wish.

Dear Balraj,

You can use ChartsData to download both EOD and intraday data's and these data's will be saved in the different database location c:\chartsdata\Amibroker. Due to this, the data clash will not happen unless you copy/paste into/from other database.

Dear Sundeep,

Metastock comes in two versions - EOD and Realtime. If you have EOD version then it is not possible to update charts realtime. If you have realtime metastock version then you can find metastock offline mode insted of opening metastock in realtime mode, which in turn connects to qs/es to update data's realtime.
